Pilots Of The Purple Twilight - Nanango
- The Nanango Theatre Company will be presenting the second performance of their latest production "Pilots Of The Purple Twilight" at the Nanango Theatre Company Playhouse at the corner of Elk and George Streets in Nanango at 7:30pm this evening. The NTC have been rehearsing this 1989 Steve Kluger play for almost six months and it promises to be quite a show! Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for concessions if you buy them at the door, but Early Bird tickets are available for $15 and $10 respectivelty if you pay for them at least 7 days beforehand. These tickets can be obtained from the South Burnett Energy and Tourist infomation Centre in Henry Street, Nanango or by phoning (07) 4171-0100 or (07) 4189-9446. Note: There'll be two more performances at 7:30pm in the evening on November 10th and 16th before the season concludes with a Wine & Cheese Night on November 17th. RSPCA Bowling Night - Kingaroy
- The Kingaroy RSPCA Shelter will be holding a fun fund-raising bowling night from 5:30pm today at the Kingaroy Tenpin and Putt Putt Centre on the Bunya Highway. Cost is $25 which includes three games and free shoe hire. There'll also be a sausage sizzle. Friday Social Golf - Kingaroy
- The Kingaroy Golf Club on the Bunya Highway at Kingaroy will holding their regular Friday 9-ers 9 hole social golfing sessions for men and women from 8:00am until dusk today. Everyone is most welcome (including non-members) and green fees are $11 for members or $14 for non-members for the nine holes - but this also includes a card draw for prizes in the clubhouse in the evening (there's also a Jackpot card draw on the last Friday of each month). South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
- The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 11:00am to 1:00pm today at 10 Kingaroy Street in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $35 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items). Blue Light Disco - Nanango
- The Nanango Blue Light Disco committee will be holding a Blue Light Disco at the Nanango Skating Rink in George Street, Nanango this evening. A Junior Disco for young people up to 12 years of ahe will run from 5:00pm to 6:30pm, followed by a Senior Disco for young people aged 13 to 17 between 7:00pm and 9:00pm. Get Ready - Cherbourg
- A “Get Ready Cherbourg” day will be held at Jack O'Chin Oval in Cherbourg from 9:30am this morning through until 7:00pm tonight to help raise awareness about disaster preparedness in the town's community. Cherbourg was badly hit by the January 2011 floods and both Cherbourg Council and emergency workers would like to see everyone be much better prepared the next time a disaster strikes. The day will get underway when school children visit the oval and take part in activities and games with Volunteers Queensland, Emergency Management Queensland, the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service and the Queensland Ambulance Service. For adults, the nearby Ration Shed Museum will be mounting a special display of residents' flood photos and stories. Residents will also be able to register for first aid classes that will be offered to Cherbourg residents in the future and give feedback to Cheebourg Council on what they believe could be improved in future disaster respponse efforts. There'll also be an opportunity for people to identify items that will assist them in preparing their individual household emergency kits. The day will come to a close with free rides and a concert between 4:00pm and 7:00pm.
