Nanango Christmas Tree Festival
- The 4th annual Nanango Christmas Tree Festival will be held at the Nanango Cultural Centre in George Street from 9:00am to 4:00pm today. The Festival - a display of Christmas trees - helps raise money for local school chaplaincy programs, and it will continue every day until Sunday, December 2nd. Entry is by donation and morning and afternoon teas will be available for $4. Everyone is welcome!
Friday Social Golf - Kingaroy
- The Kingaroy Golf Club on the Bunya Highway at Kingaroy will holding their regular Friday 9-ers 9 hole social golfing sessions for men and women from 8:00am until dusk today. Everyone is most welcome (including non-members) and green fees are $11 for members or $14 for non-members for the nine holes - but this also includes a card draw for prizes in the clubhouse in the evening (there's also a Jackpot card draw on the last Friday of each month). KCCI Christmas Break-Up
- The Kingaroy Chamber Of Commerce and Industry will be holding its annual members' Christnmas Break-Up at Accents Restaurant at 30 Alford Street in Kingaroy from 5:00pm to 6:30pm this afternoon. All KCCI members are very welcome.
Tarong Power Station Overhaul Finishes
- The overhaul of Unit 1 at Tarong Power Station (which has been running since October 5th) will conclude today and the $1.5 million of extra cash it's injected into the region's economy while the work was being carried out will also cease. However, four overhauls are scheduled for 2013 (in January, May, October and November) and these will inject further millions into the region's economy in 2013.
Big Scrub Garden Club Christmas Break-Up
- The Big Scrub Garden Club will be holding their Christmas break-up at The Gums at 598 Recreation Drive in Memerambi today, kicking off with a morning tea at 10:00am and followed by lunch. - The South Burnett Lively 50s & 60s Singles Social Group will be holding a Karaoke Night at the Warana Hotel at 42 Mackenzie Street, Wondai from 7:30pm until late this evening. South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
- The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 11:00am to 1:00pm today at 10 Kingaroy Street in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $35 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
