South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Heartmoves Exercise Session - Nanango
A free Heartmoves exercise session led by South Burnett physiotherapist Louise Kenny will be held at Rapid Fitness at 4 Railway Lane in Nanango between 10:45am and 11:45am this morning. The Heartmoves exercise program is jointly sponsored by the Heart Foundation, Rapid Fitness and the South Burnett Regional Council's Healthy Communities program. It's designed for people who haven't done exercise in awhile, and it lets you exercise at your own pace in a supportive environment. Bowls Club Bingo - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Bowls Club at 141 Youngman St, Kingaroy will be running bingo matches from 7:30pm this evening with $800 in prizes on offer. More details from the club on (07) 4162-1404
Indoor Bowls & Cards Day - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Senior Citizens Club will be hosting indoor bowls and cards (500) competitions at its centre on the corner of Avoca and Kingaroy Streets, Kingaroy between 9:00am and 4:00pm today. Nanango Seniors Meeting
The Nanango branch of National Seniors will be holding their regular 3rd Wednesday of the month meeting at CTC (opposite the State Primary School) in Drayton Street, Nanango at 10:30am this morning - though you can come as early as 9:30am if you'd like a cuppa and natter first. New members aged 50-plus are very welcome!
South Burnett Tourism Association Christmas Party
The South Burnett Tourism Association will be holding their annual Christmas Party at the Carrollee Hotel in King Stret, Kingaroy from 6:00pm this evening (dinner will be served at 6:30pm and be followed by a meeting). The South Burnett Carers Social & Information Group will be holding its regular monthly meeting at the Kingaroy RSL's Anzac Room between 10:30am and 12:30pm this morning. The group is open to anyone who acts as a carer and is designed to provide a social and networking outlet for carers, who often find themselves isolated by their role. Summer Soccer 7s - Kingaroy
The weekly summer Soccer 7s competition will be held at 6:30pm this evening at Tom Alford Oval in Oliver Bond Street, Kingaroy (ie the Kingaroy soccer grounds). The competition is open to players of all skill levels and abilities, and players who weren't registered for the 2012 season can pay a $25 social registration which will cover them until December 31. There will also be a $50 team nomination fee available, as well as a nightly match fee of $5 each to play. Everyone is welcome! More details? Community Kitchen Meeting - Blackbutt
If you live in (or near) Blackbutt, are interested in cooking affordable and nutritious meals and would like to get together with a group of like-minded individuals on a regular basis to socialise and cook food, RHealth and the South Burnett Regional Council will be holding their monthly Community Kitchen meeting at the Blackbutt Memorial Hall from 10:00am and 12:00 noon today. Community Kitchens are owned and driven by participants, who make all the decisions about running the group; how often it meets and what will be cooked. In general, your only cost will be to pay for your share of the ingredients used in any cook-up - but to kick the kitchen off, the SBRC will supply the funding for the first 10 cooking sessions. Alcoholics Anonymous - Wondai
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experiences, strengths and hopes with each other to help solve their common problems and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership, and AA isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution.
