South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
SES Truck Load Of Thanks Tour - Nanango
This week is 2012 SES Week, and the South Burnett's SES groups will be marking it with a "Truck Load Of Thanks" tour of the region's major towns. Today the Tour will continue at Reg McCallum Park in Nanango between 7:30am and 9:30am with a free community sausage sizzle, a talk by a special guest speaker from Emergency Management Queensland about disaster safety, and free Disaster Ready kits for everyone who comes along. Crow-FM 90.7's popular Breakfast Show will also be broadcasting live on site, and everyone is welcome! Note: A final Tour pit-stop will be held at Blackbutt tomorrow.
Nanango Tourism & Development Association Meeting
The Nanango Tourism & Development Association will be holding its regular 3rd Thursday of the month meeting at the Nanango Golf Club off the D'Aguilar Highway north of Nanango at 5:30pm this evening (meeting starts at 6:00pm). The NaTDA aims to assist, foster, instigate or manage any project that could contribute to the advancement of the communities in and around Nanango. Murgon Seniors Luncheon - Wondai
The Murgon branch of National Seniors will be holding an end-of-year luncheon at Dimities Cottage in Haly Street, Wondai from 11:30am onwards this morning. The cost of the lunch is $27 per head and new members and/or passengers from the group's regular coach tours are very welcome - but to help plan catering, an RSVP is essential. Thursday Afternoon Golf - Nanango
The Nanango Golf Club on the D'Aguilar Highway at Nanango holds a 9-hole stableford game every Thursday afternoon for anyone interested in playing. Names need to be in by 1:00pm for a 1:30pm start, and new players are always welcome. More details? Phone the golf club on (07) 4163-1463
Taras Hall Bingo - Nanango
Bingo games will be held at Taras Hall immediately next to Nanango RSL in Henry Street, Nanango at 10:00am this morning. Everyone is welcome!
Thursday Evening Dance Classes - Kingaroy
Social Dance Classes will be held in the Apex room of the Kingaroy Senior Citizens Centre at the corner of Avoca and Kingaroy Streets, Kingaroy (opposite Super IGA) at 6:30pm this evening. You can learn how to do the Gypsy Tap, Pride of Erin or some of the latest sequence dances - and don't worry if you haven’t got a partner, there are plenty of dancers to help you! It doesn't matter if you just want to learn, have been dancing for years or are visiting the area - come along for a great night out with heaps of fun and laughter. St Josephs Bingo - Murgon
St Joseph's Parish Hall in Angel Avenue, Murgon will be holding bingo games from 7:30pm this evening. There'll be $1000 in prizes on offer as well as a canteen and lucky bingo tickets. Proceeds will go to aid St Joseph's school and community works.
Alcoholics Anonymous - Kingaroy
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experiences, strengths and hopes with each other to help solve their common problems and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership, and A.A. isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution. Kingaroy State High School will be holding its annual Senior Formal at the Kingaroy Town Hall in Glendon Street this evening. Glendon Street - between Alford and Haly Street - will be closed between 5:00pm and 8:00pm because of it.
