Pilots Of The Purple Twilight - Nanango
- The Nanango Theatre Company will be presenting the final performance of their latest production "Pilots Of The Purple Twilight" at the Nanango Theatre Company Playhouse at the corner of Elk and George Streets in Nanango at 7:30pm this evening. The NTC have been rehearsing this 1989 Steve Kluger play for almost six months and it promises to be quite a show! Tonight's performance is Wine & Cheese Night and tickets are $25 per head. You can buy them in advance from the South Burnett Energy and Tourist infomation Centre in Henry Street, Nanango or by phoning (07) 4171-0100 or (07) 4189-9446, but some may also be available at the door tonight if you're very lucky. Friendship Markets - Kingaroy
- The third Saturday of the month Friendship Markets will be held at the Senior Citizens Centre in Avoca Street, Kingaroy from 6:30am to around 12:00pm today. Friendship Dance B&W Ball - Kingaroy
- The monthly Friendship Dance will be held at the Kingaroy Senior Citizens Centre in Avoca Street, Kingaroy (opposite Super IGA) at 7:30pm this evening, with music supplied popular local entertainers The Soulmates. Tonight's dance will be a special "Black And White Ball" and admission is $12 for adults and $5 for high school students. Susan Dowdle School Of Dance Annual Concert - Murgon
- The Susan Dowdle School of Dance will be holding their 12th annual Dance Concert at Murgon Town Hall off Lamb Street, Murgon at 7:00pm this evening. The concert will feature enthusiastic performances of classical, jazz and tap dancing by the School's students, along with a wide array of colourful costumes. Admission is $12 for adults and secondary students and $7 for primary school students (pre-schoolers are free) and while many tickets to tonight's concert are already sold, there'll still be a number available at the door. Seafood Smorgasbord - Wondai
- Dimities Cottage at 49 Haly Street, Wondai will be holding another of their popular monthly all-you-can-eat Seafood Smorgasbords from 6:30pm this evening (dinner starts at 7:00pm). St Patrick's High Tea - Nanango
- St Patrick's Primary School at 16 Alfred Street in Nanango are celebrating their centenary this year, and they'll be holding a sprecial High Tea at 1:30pm this afternoon to mark the occasion. Apart from great food, the tea will feature live entertainment by the South Burnett Chorale and the Barkers Creek Bush Band. Saturday Cricket
- After last week's bye, the fourth round of the South Burnett's 2012-13 cricket season will be played at a variety of locations around the region today. In A-grade, the Murgon Crusanders will play the Nanango Scorpions at the Murgon Sportsgrounds;
while Kingaroy RSL will play the Wooroolin Warriors at Lyle Vidler Oval in Youngman Street, Kingaroy. Note: Today's A-grade matches are the first instalment of the season's first 2 day game, which will be concluded with matches at the same locations next Saturday. And in B-grade, the Kumbia Rattlers will play Barambah at the Kumbia Sportsgrounds; the Murfgon Colts will play the Wondai Wolves at the Murgon Sportsgrounds; Wooroolin Warriors will play Kingaroy RSL at the Kingaroy State School; and Murgon Magic will play Murgon Diggers at the Murgon Sportsgrounds. All matches get underway at 1:00pm, and spectators and supporters are very welcome!
Bowls Club Bingo - Kingaroy

Saturday Golf - Blackbutt and Kingaroy
- Two golfing events will be held in the region today at Blackbutt and Kingaroy. In Blackbutt, the annual Corporate Sponsors Day 3 PA (NP) will be played out at the Blackbutt Golf Club in Bowmans Road from 12:00 noon - (07) 4163-0180. And in Kingaroy, the Kingaroy Golf Club on the Bunya Highway south-west of town will be holding their Monthly Medal competition for A, B and C-grade players along with stroke and putts - (07) 4162-1720. New players are very welcome at either of these events.
Nanango Army Cadet Unit End Of Year Parade & Dinner
- The Nanango Army Cadet Unit will be holding their End Of Year Parade and awards day at the undercover area of Nanango State High School in Elk Street, Nanango from 9:30am to around 10:00am this morning. This evening, all parents and cadets will be attending the Unit's annual dinner at Nanango RSL from 6:00pm onwards.
What's On At The Wineries This Weekend
- The South Burnett's wineries and cellar doors will all be open this weekend if you want to relax in their cafes and/or taste their wines. The South Burnett is now the largest wine region in Queensland and (excluding the Granite Belt) larger than all the State's other wine regions put together. Blackbutt Country Crafters Fair
- The Blackbutt Country Crafters will be holding their annual Country Crafters Fair at the Uniting Church Hall in Coulson Street, Blackbutt from 9:00am to 3:00pm today. The Fair will feature cards, tea towels, plants, toys, Chistmas decorations and much more - all just perfect for the up-coming Festive Season! There'll also be tea, coffee, cake, bikkies and sandwhiches available if you feel peckish, along with a major raffle and fun spot raffles and prizes. Admission is free and everyone is welcome!

Softball Festival - Nanango
- A Softball Festival will be held at the Nanango Sporting Fields in Burnett Street, Nanango today as a fundraiser for a local charity. The day is open to both individuals and social teams and will feature a Mixed Ozpitcb Tournament for senior players as well a Junior Come & Try Clinic for younger players. The tournament entry fee for players aged 14 and upwards is $20, and there'll also be raffles, a jumping castle, showbags and other fun entertainment on offer too.
