Pilots Of The Purple Twilight - Nanango
- The Nanango Theatre Company will be presenting the third performance of their latest production "Pilots Of The Purple Twilight" at the Nanango Theatre Company Playhouse at the corner of Elk and George Streets in Nanango at 7:30pm this evening. The NTC have been rehearsing this 1989 Steve Kluger play for almost six months and it promises to be quite a show! Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for concessions if you buy them at the door, but Early Bird tickets are available for $15 and $10 respectivelty if you pay for them at least 7 days beforehand. These tickets can be obtained from the South Burnett Energy and Tourist infomation Centre in Henry Street, Nanango or by phoning (07) 4171-0100 or (07) 4189-9446. Note: There'll be one more performance at 7:30pm in the evening next Friday night, November 16th before the season concludes with a Wine & Cheese Night on Saturday, November 17th. Yarraman Markets - Yarraman
- The Yarraman Progress Association's monthly Yarraman Markets will be held at Errol Munt Oval in Yarraman from 7:00am until around 1:00pm today. The markets feature trash and treasure stalls, car boot sellers, local produce and hand-made goods, as well as food stalls and an under-cover play area for children. Christmas Cent Sale - Mondure
- The Hivesville branch of the QCWA will be holding their popular annual Christmas Cent Sale at Mondure Hall in Main Street, Mondure at 1:00pm this afternoon. Entry is a slim $3 (which includes a ticket in the lucky door prize and afternoon tea) and in addition to the Cent Sale there'll also be raffles, special draws and lots of fun! Bowls Club Bingo - Kingaroy

Annual Picnic - Bunya Mountains
- The Bunya Mountains Natural History Association will be staging their popular Annual Picnic from 10:00am to 4:00pm today at the Association's headquarters and museum at "Cedarvale" (at Dandabah Park in the heart of the Bunya Mountains). Visitors to this free event will be given morning and afternoon teas and lunch and there'll be all day entertainment as well. All past and present residents of the Bunya Mountains and anyone who shares a love of this unique National Park are most welcome! Over the last few years the Annual Picnic has steadiy grown to become the signature annual reunion event for Bunya Mountaineers that many people now travel large distances to attend. More details? Markets In The Garden - Kumbia
- Kumbia's new Markets In The Garden will be held in Bell Street, Kumbia from 7:00am to around 1:00pm today. These markets are now held on the second Saturday of each month and feature fresh fruit and vegies, jewellery, childerens furniture and toys, plants, hairdresser dolls and bears, bric-a-brac and collectables amongst many other things. There's also live music, face painting for children, a variety of free workshops and even a sausage sizzle! New stallholders are also very welcome. More details? Saturday Golf - Blackbutt and Kingaroy
- Two golfing events will be held around the region today in Blackbutt and Kingaroy. In Blackbutt, the South Burnett Beverages Day (a 4BBB Medley Stableford) will be played out at the Blackbutt Golf Club in Bowmans Road from 12:00 noon - (07) 4163-0180. And in Kingaroy, the Kingaroy Golf Club on the Bunya Highway south-west of town will be holding its Captains Trophy stroke competition - (07) 4162-1720. New players are very welcome at either of these events.
South Burnett Saints Sign-On Day - Kingaroy
- The South Burnett Saints Aussie Rules club will be holding a Sign-On Day outside Mathers at Kingaroy Shoppingworld from 8:30am to 12:30pm this morning. The Saints are looking for anyone who'd like to play a role in the club next year either as a player, helper or official. They only have a week left to submit their application to the league, so if you'd like to support them bring friends along as well.
Seafood Buffet - Murgon
- Sakina's Seafood Buffet - which is held on the 2nd Saturday of each month - will be running at the Saleyard Cafe on Gayndah Road at Murgon at 6:30pm this evening. What's On At The Wineries This Weekend
- The South Burnett's wineries and cellar doors will all be open this weekend if you want to relax in their cafes and/or taste their wines. The South Burnett is now the largest wine region in Queensland and (excluding the Granite Belt) larger than all the State's other wine regions put together. Cent Auction - Nanango
- The Nanango Scout Group will be holding their annual Cent Auction at the Nanango Cultural Centre in George Street at 1:00pm this afternoon (doors open at 11:00am). Admission is $5 - which includes a free sheet of tickets and a great afternoon tea, and everyone is welcome! The Future Of Food In The Burnett - Kingaroy
- Growing The Burnett Inc will be presenting a free seminar at the Kingaroy Town Hall Supper Room at 6:30pm tonight on opportunities to create a regional food network in the region. A panel of "regional foodies" will be in attendance to take questions on anything from food production to regional food hubs, share farming on small acreages through to self-employment opportunities in local food production, and several presenters will be giving their thoughts on various types of food production systems and the future prospects they offer (eg: organic farming). Community Protest Rally - Kingaroy
- The CMFEU, the Electrical Trades Union, the Australian Services Union and the Australian Manufacturing Workers Union will be holding a community protest rally at O'Neill Square in Kingaroy's CBD at 9:30am this morning in support of workers at the Tarong Power Station. Meandu mine employees, family members of Stanwell employees, and members of the general public are welcome to attend to show support for the workers and hear an update from the unions about what's been happening with Fair Work Australia.
Strewth - Kingaroy

Dance - Booie Hall
- A dance will be held at Booie Hall from 8:00pm until around 12:00pm this evening. Music will be supplied by Jus' Dancin' and there'll be the usual great supper, novelties and lucky door prize. Reading Bug - Nanango
- The Nanango Library in Drayton Steet will be celebrating the arrival of the Reading Bug Egg this morning with sevwral family activities. Children - and their parents or guardian - can meet Story Time leaders outside Nanango Library between 9:30am and 10:00am to begin a Story Trail around the CBD which will continue until noon. Participants are asked to wear red to show that they’re “well read”, and to bring a hat to stay safe from the sun. The Reading Bug Egg will arrive at the Library around 10:00am, and visiting author John Danalis will be arriving at the Nanango Cultural Cedntre at 10:30am to announce the winner of the recent "Design the Bug" competition, as well as hold writing workshops for adults. Ulysses Motor Cycle Club Meeting - Kingaroy
- The South Burnett's favourite motorcycle club, the Ulysses MC Burnett Branch (motto: "Grow old disgracefully") will be holding their regular 2nd Saturday of the month meeting at the Kingaroy Hotel-Motel at the corner of Haly Street and the Bunya Highway in Kingaroy from 9:00am this morning. South Burnett Permaculture Group Meeting - Wondai
- The South Burnett Permaculture Group will be holding their November meeting at 2:00pm this afternoon at the Wondai QCWA Rooms in Mackenzie Street, Wondai.
