Nanango Easter Saturday Race Meeting
- The Nanango Race Club will be holding their enormously popular annual Easter Saturday Race Meeting at the Lee Park Raceway off the D'aguilar Highway just south of Nanango from 12:30pm until around 4:30pm this afternoon. The theme for today's meeting is "Heels / Handbags and Hats" and there'll be prizes in the hotly-contested Moffatdale Ridge Fashions Of The Field competition for stylish patrons who've dressed to this theme. As usual, the Pink Champagne Bar and a licensed bar will be in full swing along with the Winning Post Cafe and a BBQ, and there'll be lots of bookies and an on-course tote available to take your bets. Today's meeting is a 5-race event and in addition to a bumper field of top-notch horses there'll also be amusements for children; Lucky Punter draws (where losing punter's tickets can win a prize); plus a few other Easter-inspired surprises you'll have to be trackside to see. Buses will be running to the races from Kingaroy's Carrollee Hotel at noon; the Glendon Street Bus Depot at 12:15pm, and the Nanango RSL at 12:30pm. Gates will open at the track itself at around 10:00am so that go-getters can get a head start on that all-important socialising. Admission is just $10 for adults and $5 for pensioners (under-15s are free), there's definitely no BYO, and everyone is welcome! More details? Phone Rosemary on (07) 4163-2346 or email her. Today's meeting is sponsored by Bill Hull Care Centre, Star Tyre Power Nanango/Kingaroy, Thorp's Jewellers Kingaroy, the Maidenwell Hotel, McDonalds Kingaroy, 2Xtreemz, Whipbird Cafe and The Look Kingaroy.
