89th Annual Murgon Show
- The gates will open at Murgon Showgrounds in Macalister Street, Murgon at 6:30am this morning and piping hot breakfasts will start being served up in the Cattleman's Bar for the second (and main) day of the 89th Annual Murgon Show. This year's Show will feature a big range of horse and cattle events and things will move into full gear from 8:00am onwards with judging for a bumper field of stud cattle; led steers; prime cattle and poultry. There'll also be a giant Dog Show and a top line-up of musical entertainment along with a big rodeo (from around 7:00pm); an animal nursery; a Ute Muster; a Fashion Parade; a bumper Sideshow Alley; pavilion and trade exhibits; a photography display; and all the fun of a great Aussie fair! The year's Murgon Show will be officially opened at around 1:30pm in front of the grandstand by former Murgon Mayor Bill Roberts, and there'll also be a spectacular fireworks display mid-way through the evening at around 6:30pm. Admission to the Show is $12 for adults; $8 for pensioners and students with ID cards; $3 for primary school students; or $32 for a family (2 adults plus dependent children). St Patricks Day Dinner At Captain's Paddock
- Captains Paddock Vineyard at Millers Road in Booie will be holding a St Patricks Day Dinner at their cellar door from 6:00pm onwards this evening. Apart from great food and wine, members of the South Burnett Musical Comedy Society will be performing "A Touch of Ireland" during the night too. Shave For A Cure - Yarraman
- Believe Shave For A Cure will be holding their big annual fundraiser at Yarraman's Royal Hotel today, with activities kicking off at 11:00am and running until late. There'll be an open mic, a great BBQ, hair shaving and colouring (of course!), showbag giveaways for children, face painting, 20 bumper meat tray raffles, a quilt raffle and a whole lot more. Special guest Rowan Edwards will be putting in an appearance during the day to belt out some songs, Donna Louise Moore will be singing as well, and the Believe team will be selling their CDs for just $10, with 100% of sales going to World's Greatest Shave. - Accents Restaurant at 30 Alford Street in Kingaroy will be holding a 4-course St Patricks Day Dinner at 6:30pm this evening in honour of Ireand's patron saint (St Patricks Day falls tomorrow). Nanango Computer Club Meeting
- The Nanango Computer Club will be holding its regular fortnightly meeting at the Nanango Cultural Centre in George Street, Nanango between 1:30pm and 4:00pm this afternoon. The club caters for computer enthusiasts at all skill levels and welcomes anyone interested in learning more about computers in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Oliver Children's Auditions - Kingaroy
- The South Burnett Musical Comedy Society will be staging the musical "Oliver" for their 2013 production at Kingaroy Town Hall, and today they're holding auditions for children and young people aged 7 to 17 to be in the show. A lot of children attended last week's auditions but the SBMC still need a lot more (it's a b-i-g show!). Auditions will be held from 12:00 noon today at the SBMC Shed located at the rear of the South Burnett Enterprise Centre at 6 Cornish Street in Kingaroy. Children don't need to have anything prepared - just come along (the auditions are pretty low-key and a lot of fun).
St Patricks Weekend - Kingaroy
