Community Flood Recovery Information Meetings - Kumbia and Ironpot
- The South Burnett Regional Council in conjunction with the Federal and State Governments and regional organisations will be holding the seconfd two postponed Community Flood Recovery Information Meetings at the Kumbia Hall in Bell Street, Kumbia from 6:30am to 8:30am this morning; and again at the Ironpot Hall in Ironpot from 6:30pm to 8:30pm tonight. The purpose of the meetings is to provide the latest information about the assistance that's now available (eg: loans, grants and/or support) for people who were affected by the Australia Day weekend floods. Apart from the Council there'll also be representatives on hand from the Department of Communities, Farm Financial Counsellors from DAFF, BIEDO Grant Angels, Centrelink and Centacare to answer questions and make appointments to assist. A cuppa and breakfast will also be supplied at the morning meeting (light refreshments at the evening meeting) and anyone affected by the recent floods - or who knows of someone who was - is very welcome. Indoor Bowls & Cards Day - Kingaroy
- The Kingaroy Senior Citizens Club will be hosting indoor bowls and cards (500) competitions at its centre on the corner of Avoca and Kingaroy Streets, Kingaroy between 9:00am and 4:00pm today. - The South Burnett Lively 50s&60s Social Group will be holding a Wednesday Wipe-Outs 10-Pin Bowling Morning at the Kingaroy Ten Pin Bowling Alley at 4 Irvins Street from 9:15am this morning (bowling starts at 9:30am sharp). The cost is $15.60 for three games plus a $2.00 fee that will be used towards prize monies and trophies which will be handed out out at the end of the season. Kingaroy Lions Club Dinner Meeting
- The Kingaroy Lions Club will be holding their bi-monthly Dinner Meeting at the Kingaroy Hotel at the corner of Haly and Youngman Streets in Kingaroy (opposite McDonalds) from 6:30pm onwards tonight. - The South Burnett Tourism Association will be holding its Annual General Meeting at the Wondai Regional Art Gallery on the roundabout at Wondai at 6:00pm this evening. The meeting will review the Association's progress after its 2011 merger with Toowoomba Golden West Tourism (which ceased to exist when Southern Queensland Country Tourism was formed in 2012) and also consider what the next steps for the local tourism association might be.
