Community Flood Recovery Information Meetings - Wooroolin & Mondure
- The South Burnett Regional Council in conjunction with the Federal and State Governments and regional organisations will be holding the final two of a series of Community Flood Recovery Information Meetings at the Wooroolin Hall on the Bunya Highway, Wooroolin from 6:30am to 8:30am this morning; and again at the Mondure Hall in Mondure from 6:30pm to 8:30pm tonight. The purpose of the meetings is to provide the latest information about the assistance that's now available (eg: loans, grants and/or support) for people who were affected by the Australia Day weekend floods. Apart from the Council there'll also be representatives on hand from the Department of Communities, Farm Financial Counsellors from DAFF, BIEDO Grant Angels, Centrelink and Centacare to answer questions and make appointments to assist. A cuppa and breakfast will also be supplied at the morning meeting (light refreshments at the evening meeting) and anyone affected by the recent floods - or who knows of someone who was - is very welcome. Hendra Information Night - Kingaroy
- A free Hendra Information Night will be held at Kingaroy Town Hall Reception Room in Glendon Street, Kingaroy at 6:00pm this evening. The event is being run by pharmaceutical company Zoetis and they will explain the dangers of Hendra, the risks in the South Burnett and the importance of vaccination. They'll also provide updates on the performance of the Hendra vaccine since it became available; vaccination rates in the South Burnett and nationally; new data that's only recently become available; and the official positions of clubs and industry bodies. The seminar would be of interest to anyone who owns horses and you can obtain more information and/or reserve a seat by emailing Zoetis.
South Burnett Computer Users Group Meeting - Kingaroy
- The South Burnett Computer Users Group will be holding their fortnightly meeting from 10:00am today at the Orana Drop-In Centre at MacDiamid Street in Kingaroy. The SBCUG is a not-for-profit group that aims to help seniors get the most from their computers. Beginners through to the more advanced users are catered for with demonstrations and practical lessons. If you're interested in becoming confident using your computer, you're welcome to come and learn in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The meeting starts at 10:00am with an hour's break for lunch from noon to 1:00pm, and then continues to 4:00pm. You & Your First Website - Yarraman
- The Toowoomba Chamber Of Commerce, SQIT and the Federal Government will be holding a free 90-minute workshop at the Yarraman Library at the corner of Toomey and Douglas Streets, Yarraman from 5:30pm to 7:00pm tonight. The workshop - "You & Your First Website" - is aimed at small business owners and not-for-profit groups who'd like to learn more about what's involved in setting up a website. And after tonight's seminar is over (if you'd like to actually do it), there'll be an opportunity to get free one-on-one tuition for website development or enhancement courtesy of NBNCo. The workshop is completely free to attend but bookings are essential, and you should phone (07) 4637-9276 by March 11th to reserve a seat.
Diabetes Prevention Workshop - Murgon
- RHealth and the South Burnett Regional Council's Healthy Communities Program will be holding the second of four free weekly workshops tonight which are designed to help people reduce their risk of developing Type 2 diabetes. The workshop will be held at the Murgon Town Hall off Lamb Street, Murgon from 5:30pm to 7:00pm tonight. Over the course of four weeks participants will learn about physical activity; healthy eating; healthy cooking; and how to make smart food choices. Everyone is welcome but places are limited. Book Launch - Kingaroy
- South Burnett author Dawn Vandenberg will be launching her new book "A Look Through My Eyes" - a "stunning real life saga of family and financial, political and spiritual battles" - at the Kingaroy Library in Glendon Street, Kingaroy at 10:00am this morning. St Joseph's Bingo - Murgon
- St Joseph's Parish Hall in Angel Avenue, Murgon will be holding bingo games from 7:30pm this evening. There'll be $1000 in prizes on offer as well as a canteen and lucky bingo tickets. Proceeds will go to aid St Joseph's school and community works.
Wondai Wolves Training Night - Wondai
- The Wondai Wolves RLFC will be holding their regular Thursday night training sessions at the Wondai Sportsgrounds off the Bunya Highway just north of the CBD this evening. Juniors train from 4:30pm to 5:30pm, followed by seniors at 6:00pm.
South Burnett Saints Training Meeting - Kingaroy
- The South Burnett Saints AFL Club will be holding their regular Thursday pre-season training session for junior players (U8s, U10s, U12s and U14s) at Lyle Vidler Oval in Youngman Street, Kingaroy from 4:30pm to 5:30pm today. Senior players will train at the Kingaroy Pool at the corner of Alford and William Streets, Kingaroy at 5:45pm.

Alcoholics Anonymous - Kingaroy
- Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experiences, strengths and hopes with each other to help solve their common problems and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership, and A.A. isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution.
