South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Lunch At The Taabinga Room - Kingaroy
Looking for somewhere different for lunch today? Then why not have lunch at the Taabinga Room Restaurant, which is located at the Kingaroy TAFE College on the corner of the Bunya Highway and Geritz Road, Kingaroy. The Taabinga Room Restaurant is the training restaurant for the Kingaroy campus where TAFE's apprentices and school students get to experience the hospitality industry in a supportive training environment. Students run the front and back-of-house operations. set up the restaurant for service, prepare, cook and serve the food and beverages and are assessed on these tasks throughout the day. The food on offer is very good and inexpensive too ($12.50 for a three-course lunch, $10 for two courses or $6.50 for one course). Today's lunch is being prepared by Nanango State High School hospitality students and will be served between 12:00 noon and 2:00pm. However, bookings are essential. Timbertown Woodworkers Group Meeting - Blackbutt
The Timbertown Woodworkers Group will be holding their regular Wednesday meeting at the Blackbutt Showgrounds in Bowman Road, Blackbutt from 8:00am until around 4:00pm today. Kingaroy Lions Club Dinner Meeting
The Kingaroy Lions Club will be holding their bi-monthly Dinner Meeting at the Kingaroy Hotel at the corner of Haly and Youngman Streets in Kingaroy (opposite McDonalds) from 6:30pm onwards tonight. The Kingaroy Lions are involved in a very wide range of community activities in Kingaroy and surrounding areas all year round and anyone who's interested in joining a Lions Club (or simply socialising and seeing how Lions operate) is very welcome to come along! Nanango Blue Light Open Night
The Nanango Blue Light Disco committee will be holding their regular Wednesday Open Night at the Nanango Skating Rink in George Street, Nanango from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. Young people are welcome to come along for skating lessons, homework help (during school term), games and access to the computer room. Entry is $2. More details? Tourism Advisory Group Meeting - Wondai
The Southern Queensland Country Tourist Regional Tourism Organisation will be holding a Tourism Advisory Group meeting at the Wondai Regional Art Gallery on the roundabout at Wondai at 5:00pm this evening. The meeting will include updates on the 2013/14 planning process and proposed plan of activity, the 20 Year Tourism Plan update, and an Autumn/Winter campaign update along with information about how tourism operators can leverage this activity. Music Explorers Meeting - Wondai
The Music Explorers group will be meeting at The Studio behind the Wondai Regional Art Gallery in Haly Street, Wondai from 7:00pm to 9:30pm this evening. This informal group allows amateur musicians and anyone with a love of music to get together to practice, play together, share tips and learn. New members are always very welcome! Wednesday Wipe-Outs Ten Pin Bowling - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Lively 50s&60s Social Group will be resuming their weekly Wednesday Wipe-Outs 10-Pin Bowling Morning at the Kingaroy Ten Pin Bowling Alley at 4 Irvins Street from 9:15am this morning (bowling starts at 9:30am sharp). The cost is $15.60 for three games plus a $2.00 fee that will be used towards prize monies and trophies which will be handed out out at the end of the season. Murgon State High School Open Day
Murgon State High School at Dutton Street in Murgon will be holding an Open Day from 2:00pm until 5:30pm this afternoon. The Open Day will feature (amongst many other things) rugby league games between Murgon State High and Burnett State College (2:00pm kick-off); interactive curriculum, content-based activities and open classrooms run by teachers and students; a free sausage sizzle from 3:30pm to 5:00pm; science displays; art displays; a Tractor Pull; Alpaca feeding and a lot more. Alcoholics Anonymous - Wondai
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experiences, strengths and hopes with each other to help solve their common problems and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership, and AA isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution. The Kingaroy Senior Citizens Club will be hosting indoor bowls and cards (500) competitions at its centre on the corner of Avoca and Kingaroy Streets, Kingaroy between 9:00am and 4:00pm today.
