Trivia Night - Wondai
The Wondai Country Club on the Bunya Highway in Wondai will be holding their popular annual Trivia Night from 7:00pm until around 10:00pm this evening. Teams of up to eight players per table will be pitting their wits against each other to win great prizes, but individual players are also very welcome too (so if you don't have a full team, come along anyway). In addition to the trivia competition there'll also be a continuous raffle throughout the night, and a light supper will be included too. he Country Club's licensed bar will also be operating. Tickets are just $10 per head and you can book in in your team by phoning Hazel on (07) 4168-5420.
Country Music Practice Night - Nanango
The Nanango Country Music Friends will be holding their weekly practice night at the Wesleyan Church in Cairns Street, Nanango at 6:30pm this evening. The group is open to people of all skill levels who enjoy playing country music, and you can find out more details by phoning (07) 4163-2469.
South Burnett Wine Appreciation Society Meeting - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Wine Appreciation Society will be holding their monthly meeting at their regular meeting address - the 1913 Council Chambers in Edward Street behind the Kingaroy Visitor Information Centre - from 6:30pm onwards this evening. Tonight's meeting will be a blind tasting of Verdelhos and everyone is welcome. The Wine Appreciation Society is open to anyone who'd like to learn more about wines and the $10 meeting fee covers wine tastings and nibbles. More details? Karaoke Night - Proston
The South Burnett Lively 50s & 60s Singles Social Group will be attending a Karaoke Night at the Golden Spurs Hotel at 25 Blake Street, Proston from 7:00pm until late this evening. High Tea & Cent Sale - Upper Yarraman
The Upper Yarraman Hall committee will be holding their annual High Tea and Cent Sale at Upper Yarraman Hall at 6:30pm this evening as a fundraiser for cancer research. Guests can enjoy a tasty home-cooked meal (which will be served at 6:30pm, so don't be late) followed by the Cent Sale and raffles. Everyone is welcome!
Endeavour Foundation Bingo - Kingaroy
The Endeavour Foundation will be holding bingo games at Kingaroy RSL from 10:00am this morning. There'll be four jackpots on offer, as well as a raffle. Everyone is welcome.
Cook For Life - Cherbourg
The Southern Queensland Institute of TAFE in partnership with Queensland Health will be holding a "Cook For Life" class at Nurunderi TAFE in Chebourg from 1:00pm to 4:00pm today. The course will cover basic cooking skills, knife skills, food safety, smart food choices and how to manage grocery budgets, and is ideal for anyone who wants to learn how to prepare quick, easy and healthy meals. St John's Primary School Charity Night - Booie
St John's Primary School will be holding a Charity Night at the Bello Vista Restaurant at the corner of Haydens and Schellbachs Roads in Booie from 5:30pm until late this evening. The restaurant will be offering a "bottomless buffet" and 10% of the cost of all meals will go towards an upcoming student excursion to Canberra. One family buffet meal will also be given away free. Kingaroy District Interschool Autumn Carnival
The Kingaroy District Interschool Autumn Carnival for Year 5 thru 7 students will be played at local schools today - one of the largest sports carnivals of the year. Netball will be played at Taabinga State School; basketball at Kingaroy State School; touch footy at St John's Luthweran School; and soccer at the Kingaroy soccer fields in Oliver Bond Street.
Friday Social Golf - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Golf Club on the Bunya Highway at Kingaroy will holding their regular Friday 9-ers 9 hole social golfing sessions for men and women from 8:00am until dusk today. Everyone is most welcome (including non-members) and green fees are $11 for members or $14 for non-members for the nine holes - but this also includes a card draw for prizes in the clubhouse in the evening (there's also a Jackpot card draw on the last Friday of each month). South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 11:00am to 1:00pm today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $35 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
