South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
KCCI Meet & Greet - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be holding a Meet & Greet at SB Care at the corner of Kingaroy and Avoca Streets, Kingaroy (ie opposite Super IGA) at 5:15pm this evening (for a 5:30pm start). Tonight's get-together will provide updates on KCCI activities and will be followed by presentations from SB Care and local businesses. The cost to attend is $10 per person for KCCI members or $15 for non-members, which includes nibbles and drinks. Everyone is welcome, but for catering purposes an RSVP by email by February 12 would be greatly appreciated.
Tech Savvy Seniors - Blackbutt
The Blackbutt Library in Hart Street, Blackbutt will be hosting a Tech Savvy Seniors afternoon at 2:00pm today. This fun, free session will be led by an NBN expert who'll be happy to explain how to make best use of your smartphone or answer any other tech questions you might have, And if you leave your name and email address at the library, staff will be happy to email you a reminder about when the next Tech Savvy session will be held. Backing Small Business - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Chamber Of Commerce & Industry will be hosting a "Backing Small Business" day at the KCCI Hub at 195 Kingaroy Street, Kingaroy from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Representatives from the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training will be on hand to provide advice about free mentoring and support services for small businesses (including grants and financial assistance), employment incentives, subsidised training, opportunities to supply to the Queensland government and more. The day is free and you can book an appointment by email or just pop in.
Nanango Indoor Bowls
The Nanango Indoor Bowls Association will be holding their regular weekly indoor bowls matches at the Nanango Cultural Centre in George Street, Nanango from 12:45pm (for a 1:00pm start) to around 4:00pm this afternoon. Defence Careers Information Night - Kingaroy
An information session outlining careers in the Australian Navy, Army and Air Force will be held at Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street, Kingaroy from 6:00pm to 8:00pm this evening. The session is free and it will allow guests to speak with current serving members about their own experiences. The South Burnett Gem and Fossicking Club will be holding their regular Tuesday meeting at their club's Wondai workshop in the old Wondai Railway Station at Coronation Park in the town's CBD from 5:30pm to around 8:00pm tonight. The club embraces all aspects of lapidary (including gem hunting and cutting) and meets every Monday and Thursday in Kingaroy, with Tuesday workshops in Wondai for faceting and silverwork. The Nanango Stags A-grade soccer team will be training at the Alan Downey Sports Fields in Burnett Street, Nanango at 6:30pm tonight. During the season the Stags train every Tuesday and Thursday night and potential new players are always welcome.
Goomeri To Kingaroy Shopping Bus
Graham House will be running a shopping bus between Goomeri and Kingaroy today. The bus will pick up customers from their Goomeri address at 8:30am and transport them to Kingaroy Shoppingworld (or other destinations if arranged beforehand), then make a return journey to Goomeri at around 12:00 noon. Tickets on the bus are $15 per person return and the bus runs fortnightly on Tuesdays, but places are limited so a booking is necessary. Blackbutt Darts Club
The Blackbutt Darts Club will holding its weekly meeting at the Lions Den inside the Showgrounds in Bowman Road, Blackbutt at 5:30pm tonight (for a 6:00pm start), finishing up around 8:00pm. South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 1A (Lot 3) Railway Terrace in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items). Alcoholics Anonymous - Nanango
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to help solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership, nor is it allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution.
