White Ribbon Day Breakfast - Kingaroy
A White Ribbon Day Breakfast jointly sponsored by the South Burnett District Law Association and the Rotary Club of Kingaroy will be held at SB Care at the corner of Kingaroy and Avoca Streets in Kingaroy (opposite SuperIGA) at 6:45am (for a 7:00am start) this morning. Special guest speaker Jim Sloane from the Graham House Community Centre in Murgon will talk about domestic violence and strategies that can be used to combat it while guests tuck into a gourmet buffet breakfast. The breakfast is part of a fundraising drive to put together $5000 for domestic violence intervention and support programs in the South Burnett, and tickets are $30 per person or $300 per table of 10. They can be purchased until November 18 (unless sold out earlier) from Kingaroy Office Central at 163 Haly Street, Kingaroy.
Burnett Birdkeepers Association Meeting - Nanango
The Burnett Birdkeepers Association will be holding their monthly meeting at the Les Fogg Pavilion inside the Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street, Nanango at 7:00pm this evening. The Association meets on the 4th Wednesday of each month and most meetings usually feature a guest speaker talking about a particular breed or other matters of interest to birdkeepers. Connections Craft Group - Kingaroy
The Connections Craft Group will be holding its weekly meeting at The Biscuit Tin behind St Mary's Church at 15 Albert Street, Kingaroy from 10:00am to around 12 noon this morning. Summer Soccer 7s - Kingaroy
The sixth round of Summer Soccer 7s will be played at the Kingaroy Soccer Fields at the end of Oliver Bond Street in Kingaroy from 5:30pm until around 9:00pm tonight. Eighteen teams - 12 social and 6 competitive - will be playing matches on two fields. Spectators are very welcome. The full Summer Soccer 7s match schedule can be found on our website.
Wednesday Night Poker - Kingaroy
Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street, Kingaroy will be hosting Wednesday night poker games this evening. Registration starts at 6:30pm and the first cards are dealt at 7:00pm. There are cash prizes to be won and no fees to play. More details from the RSL on (07) 4162-1755.
Kingaroy Girl Guides Meeting
The Kingaroy Girl Guides Troop will be meeting at the Guides Hut in Mant Street, Kingaroy this afternoon. U9s will meet from 4:00pm to 5:30pm, and seniors (ages 10-18) from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. The Nanango Swimming Club will be holding a Club Night at the Nanango Aquatic Centre in Henry Street, Nanango at 6:00pm this evening. The aim of the evening is to help children improve on their personal best times and have fun, and laughter and cheering are encouraged. Nanango Playgroup Meeting
The Nanango Playgroup will be holding its regular Wednesday meeting at the Nanango Darts Club at the corner of Elk and George Streets between 9:30am and 11:30am this morning. The playgroup is a group of mums, dads, grandparents and caregivers who meet together each week with their children (aged 5 years and under) for interaction and fun. It's a great way for children to learn about the world, make friends and develop social skills. The playgroup also gives the adults a chance to meet and share ideas and experiences. Man Cave - Kingaroy
The Sister Dolores Carroll Training Centre at St Mary's Catholic College at 10 Kent Street in Kingaroy will be transforming into a "Man's Cave" between 6:30pm and 10:00pm tonight. Qualified instructors will be demonstrating the use of all the equipment in the centre - great stuff like lathes, drills etc - and if you're a man interested in restoring or manufacturing wood or metal products and socialising with other men who have similar interests, then this could be the place for you! Indoor Bowls & Cards Day - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Senior Citizens Club will be hosting indoor bowls and cards (500) competitions at its centre on the corner of Avoca and Kingaroy Streets, Kingaroy between 9:00am and 4:00pm today.
