South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Vivaldi's 'Gloria' - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Chorale and the South Burnett Community Orchestra will be presenting a joint performance of the Christmas Light Cantata and Vivaldi's Gloria at St. John's Lutheran School Hall at 84-94 Ivy Street, Kingaroy from 6:00pm to around 7:15pm this evening. Tonight's concert is part of both groups' annual Christmas Charity Concert series, and admission is $10 (under-12s are free). The proceeds of tonight's concert will be donated to the host's charity of choice, which in this case is the Australian Lutheran World Service. Everyone is welcome! [Note: One final performance will be held at Murgon on Sunday, November 29]
Country Music Night - Nanango
An informal Country Music Night will be held at the Uniting Church Hall in Gipps Street, Nanango at 7:30pm tonight. The get-together is open to both spectators and performers, and the $2 entry fee includes supper. Everyone is welcome!
Friday Social Golf - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Golf Club on the Bunya Highway at Kingaroy will holding their regular Friday 9-ers 9 hole social golfing sessions for men and women from 8:00am until dusk today. Everyone is most welcome (including non-members) and green fees are $11 for members or $14 for non-members for the nine holes - but this also includes a card draw for prizes in the clubhouse in the evening (there's also a Jackpot card draw on the last Friday of each month). Friday Night Sax - Wondai
The South Burnett's very own "Sultan Of Sax" Tom McKenzie will be playing at the Wondai Hotel & Cellars in Haly Street, Wondai from 6:00pm until late tonight. Coverty Creek Social Club Meeting
The Coverty Creek Community Development and Social Club will be holding its regular Friday night social gathering at the Red Shed at 198 Coverty Road, Coverty from 5:00pm until around 10:00pm tonight. Friday Night At The Shed - Nanango
The Shed in Little Drayton Street, Nanango (just next to the Scott Car Park) will be open from 7:30pm until late tonight for local musicians and anyone else who enjoys music to come along, bring their instruments and jam in a relaxed and informal setting (or just sit on the Shed's lounges, listen in and enjoy the wide variety of talent on offer). Friday Morning Bingo - Kingaroy
The Endeavour Foundation will be running bingo games at Kingaroy RSL from 10:00am this morning (eyes down at 10:30am). There'll be four jackpots on offer, along with book games and raffles, and proceeds will go to help people with an intellectual disability. Everyone is welcome. More details? RBS Dance Academy Annual Concert - Murgon
The RBS Dance Academy will be holding their annual dance concert at Murgon Town Hall this evening. Students from the Academy will be performing routines based around the award-winning comedy Hairspray and - as usual - it will be a spectacular event. Doors open at 5:00pm and the concert will get undwerway at 7:00pm. Afterwards, refreshments will be served in the Town Hall's supper room. Mini Music Concert - Kingaroy
Taabinga State School in Kingaroy Street, Kingaroy will be holding a Mini Music Concert in the school's hall at 5:00pm this evening. The concert will kick off with a sausage sizzle, and then the school's instrumental bands, choirs and recorder ensembles will be presenting a selection of performances. Everyone is welcome and admission is by gold coin donation.
Barefoot Bowls & Dinner - Murgon
The Murgon Bowls Club at 104 Macalister Street in Murgon will be holding twilight barefoot bowls competitions with dinner from 6:00pm tonight (the clubhouse opens at 4:00pm). South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:30pm today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
