Stolen Wages Community Meeting - Cherbourg
The Stolen Wages Reparations Taskforce will be holding a community meeting from 10:30am to 12:30pm this morning at the Cherbourg Community Hall to gather public feedback about a State Government proposal to allocate $21 million to compensate Indigenous people whose wages and savings were controlled by past Queensland Governments under the Protection Acts: money which later vanished without a trace. The Taskforce has to determine the eligibility criteria and assessment process that will be used to distribute the funds, and while everyone is welcome, an RSVP to Cherbourg Aboriginal Shire Council on (07) 4168-1866 would be greatly appreciated to help plan morning tea.
Kumbia Progress Association Meeting
The Kumbia Progress Association will be holding its 2nd Thursday of the month meeting at the Kumbia QCWA Rooms in Bell Street at 7:30pm tonight, preceded by an optional dinner at the Kumbia Hotel at 6:00pm. Thursday Colour Therapy - Kingaroy
The Salvation Army will be running Thursday Colour Therapy - a relaxing, fun morning of colouring - from 10:30am to 12:00 noon at their building at 44 Alford Street in Kingaroy (just next to KFC). Colours, paints, pictures and paper will be supplied so you can draw, sketch, paint or colour in, and you can bring your own project or start a new one. Admission is just a gold coin donation and tea, coffee and nibbles will be provided. Everyone is welcome!
Kingaroy Community Kitchen
The Kingaroy Community Kitchen will be holding its regular Thursday morning meeting at St Mary's Hall at 15 Albert Street, Kingaroy from 10:00am to around 12:00 noon today. Comunity Kitchen members learn how to cook a variety of budget conscious home-cooked meals, then sit down together for a communal lunch afterwards to enjoy the results. Thursday Makers, Bakers and Growers Markets - Kingaroy
Boots & Bulldust will be holding their Makers, Bakers and Growers Markets in Kingaroy today. The markets feature fresh food and crafts produced exclusively in the South Burnett, and are held at O'Neill Square in Haly Street, Kingaroy between 12:00 noon and 6:30pm. Old Time Dancing - Murgon

The Blackbutt Benarkin Community Council will be holding its Annual General Meeting, followed by its usual bi-monthly meeting, at the Blackbutt Memorial Hall in Coulson Street, Blackbutt at 7:00pm tonight. 2016 Mayoral candidate Cr Damien Tessmann will be a special guest speaker, and all interested people are welcome to attend.

South Burnett CTC's CROSB (Community Respite Options South Burnett) will be holding an Open Day at their offices at the South Burnett Enterprise Centre at 6 Cornish Street, Kingaroy from 10:00am to 2:00pm today. Guest speaker Ken Leigh will be talking about NDIS Preparation Reviews and audits and there'll be information stalls, a Lions BBQ lunch, art therapy displays, a karate demonstration, entertainment and more. Yarraman Over 50s Club Meeting
The Yarraman Over 50s Club will be holding their regular second Thursday of the month meeting at Kitty Cook House in Emmett Street. Yarraman from 9:00am this morning. The Over 50s Cloub is an active social group with around 40 members and meeting days can include activities such as cards, exercises, and choir practice, as well as lunch. Alcoholics Anonymous - Kingaroy
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to help solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership. A.A. isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution.
