Kumbia Kindy Annual Charity Golf Day
The Kumbia Kindy will be holding its Annual Charity Golf Day at the Kumbia Golf Course today, with special guest Alfie Langer. The Little Legend is donating his time to help raise money for the Kumbia Kindy's kids and will not only be playing a bit of golf with all the teams, but also staying to enjoy lunch with everyone afterwards. The competition will be a 3-person ambrose, followed by a buffet BBQ lunch and plenty of prizes - and it's also your chance to get up close and personal with a sporting great over a social game of golf while raising money for this terrific local cause. Registrations start at 8:30am and tee-off will occur at 9:00am. Green fees are $30 per person if you pre-pay or $40 if you don't. Everyone is welcome! National Seniors Bus Trip To Jondaryan Woolshed
The Murgon branch of National Seniors will be running a bus trip to the Jondaryan Woolshed today. Tickets for the all-inclusive trip are $63 per head and they cover bus transport, morning tea and lunch (the bus will leave Murgon at 6:30am and pick up at all points along the way through to Yarraman). Anyone aged 50 or more is most welcome to come along, meet new friends and enjoy a fun day out. Pre-bookings are essential, though, and you can obtain more details by phoning Paula on (0497) 324-376.
Printmaking Workshop - Kingaroy
The Jumping Ant Arts Group will be holding a Printmaking Workshop at the 1913 Council Chambers in Edward Street, Kingaroy (behind the Visitor Information Centre) from 9:00am until around 3:00pm today. The workshop will allow participants to obtain an understanding of design features for printing; an appreciation of the various tools and cutters used, and the different effects they produce; examine a range of printing blocks and techniques; and at the end of the workshop, produce a simple but artistic print of their own. Old Time Dancing - Murgon
Old Time Dancing will be held at the South Burnett PCYC in Macalister Street, Murgon at 1:00pm this afternoon. Admission is $2 and everyone is welcome. More details from the PCYC on (07) 4168-1889.
Thursday Colour Therapy - Kingaroy
The Salvation Army will be running Thursday Colour Therapy - a relaxing, fun morning of colouring - from 10:30am to 12:00 noon at their building at 44 Alford Street in Kingaroy (just next to KFC). Colours, paints, pictures and paper will be supplied so you can draw, sketch, paint or colour in, and you can bring your own project or start a new one. Admission is just a gold coin donation and tea, coffee and nibbles will be provided. Everyone is welcome!
Kingaroy Community Kitchen
The Kingaroy Community Kitchen will be holding its regular Thursday morning meeting at St Mary's Hall at 15 Albert Street, Kingaroy from 10:00am to around 12:00 noon today. Community Kitchen members learn how to cook a variety of budget conscious home-cooked meals, then sit down together for a communal lunch afterwards to enjoy the results. Boots & Bulldust will be holding their Makers, Bakers and Growers Markets in Kingaroy today. South Burnett Toastmasters - Kingaroy
South Burnett Toastmasters will be holding a meeting in the Anzac Room of Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street, Kingaroy at 7:00pm this evening. Nanango Tourism & Development Association Meeting
The Nanango Tourism & Development Association will be holding its regular third Thursday of the month dinner meeting in the Long Hai Room at the Nanango RSL in Henry Street, Nanango at 5:00pm (meeting starts at 5:30pm). The NaTDA aims to assist, foster, instigate or manage any project that could contribute to the advancement of the communities in and around Nanango and represents the interests of the Nanango community, business and tourism operators. Kingaroy & Nanango State High Schools Senior Formals
Kingaroy State High School's annual Senior Formal will be held at the Kingaroy Town Hall in Glendon Street, Kingaroy this evening. Glendon Street will be closed to traffic from 4:00pm to 8:00pm, except for cars ferrying students to the dance, and the first students should begin arriving 5:00pm. Meanwhile, Nanango State High School's own Senior Formal will be held at the High School's Hall in Elk Street. The first students are expected to start arriving at 5:15pm - some in cars, and possibly some in carriages or on horseback.
Alcoholics Anonymous - Kingaroy
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to help solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership. A.A. isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution.
