Graham House Community Kitchen - Murgon
The Graham House Community Kitchen will be holding its regular Monday morning meeting at the Graham House Community Centre in Taylor Street, Murgon from 10:00am to around 12:00 noon this morning. Community Kitchen members learn how to cook a variety of budget conscious home-cooked meals, then sit down together for a communal lunch afterwards to enjoy the results. Wondai QCWA Meeting
The Wondai branch of the QCWA will be holding their regular first Monday of the month meeting at the QCWA Rooms in Mackenzie Street, Wondai at 10:00am this morning. All interested people are welcome.
Dung Beetle Workshop - Kingaroy
A workshop on working with dung beetles to improve pasture productivity and sustainability will be held at the Kingaroy Town Hall Reception Room in Glendon Street, Kingaroy from 9:30am to 3:00pm today. The workshop will be led by Bernard Doube from Dung Bettle Solutions Australia and it will look at the role dung beetles play in improving soil health and recycling nutrients; increased pasture production; and the control of gut parasites, bush and buffalo flies. It will then move on to examine the differences between local and introduced dung beetles before it delves into exploring dung beetle identification and life cycle. The workshop will also include a paddock visit after lunch, so you should wear appropriate footwear and clothing for this. The workshop is being run by the Burnett Mary Regional Group and Landcare, and the $10 admission includes morning tea and lunch. To plan the catering, though, an RSVP to Vikki or Kay on (07) 4169-0720 by October 29 would be greatly appreciated.
Hivesville QCWA Meeting

Maidenwell Dinner & Old Time Dance RSVP Deadline
Today is the last day you can RSVP for the free Dinner and Old Time Dance being held at Maidenwell Hall this Saturday, November 7 (see entry that day for all details).
Timbertowns Touch Competition - Blackbutt
The Blackbutt-Yarraman Rugby League Club's touch football competition will be running tonight at the Blackbutt rugby league grounds (ie Ian “Bunny” Pearce Oval), with Juniors (aged 5-14 years) kicking off at 5:00pm followed by Opens (men's, women's and mixed teams) at 6:00pm. This is a six-a-side competition and cost is $5 per person per game. Food and drinks will be available at the ground.
Monday Night Futsal - Murgon
Barambah United Soccer Club and the Murgon PCYC will be holding a Monday night futsal competition at the PCYC in Macalister Street, Murgon from 5:00pm this afternoon. Rising Stars Playgroup - Yarraman
The Yarraman Rising Stars Playgroup will be meeting at the Yarraman State School Meeting Room between 8:45am and 11:30am this morning. Children involved in the playgroup will get to enjoy a morning of indoor and outdoor play and fun; develop pre-reading and pre-writing skills; form strong relationships with other children; and transition to school more smoothly. If you're bringing your child along, you should also bring along morning tea, a water bottle, a hat, closwed-in shoes suitable for climbing and old clothes (sunscreen will be provided). Relay For Life Movie Night - Kingaroy
A special Relay For Life Movie Night will be held at Kingaroy's Satellite Cinema at 6:00pm this evening. The cinema will be screening "The Dressmaker", a new Australian revenge comedy drama, and tickets are $15. Everyone is welcome. Tickets can be pre-purchased from the South Burnett Regional Council's Kingaroy Customer Service Centre up to 12:00 noon today. Some may also be available at the cinema tonight.
Alcoholics Anonymous - Wondai
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experiences, strengths and hopes with each other to help solve their common problems and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership, and AA isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution.
