South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Marie Bean - Kingaroy
Marie Bean, the Australian author of two very successful books on health and fitness (Lazy Runner and Lazy Loser) will be speaking at the Kingaroy LKibrary in Glendon Street, Kingaroy at 10:30am this morning. Marie will discuss all the common myths on diets, exercise and fitness by showing how you can eat all foods, move the way you like and never have to diet again. If you are worried about your weight, fitness or health come along and hear Marie speak on ways to incorporate good eating and exercise into your daily routine without the stress of counting calories or dieting. Marie's presentations are lighthearted and you will have lots of laughs learning how to get healthy the 'Lazy' way.
Yarraman Over 50s Club Meeting
The Yarraman Over 50s Club will be holding their regular second Thursday of the month meeting at Kitty Cook House in Emmett Street. Yarraman from 9:00am this morning. The Over 50s Cloub is an active social group with around 40 members and meeting days can include activities such as cards, exercises, and choir practice, as well as lunch. The group also organise occasional bus trips. New members are always very welcome, and you can obtain more details by phoning Dale on (07) 4163-8375.
Thursday Farmer's Markets - Kingaroy
Growing The Burnett will be holding their Mid-Week Markets in Kingaroy today. The markets feature fresh food and crafts produced exclusively in the South Burnett, and are held in O'Neill Square in Haly Street, Kingaroy between 12:00 noon and 6:30pm. Proston SES Training Night
The Proston SES group will be meeting at their shed at the corner of Collingwood and Nelson Streets in Proston at 6:30pm this evening for their regular weekly training night. New members are very welcome!
Country Music Night - Nanango
An informal Country Music Night will be held at the Uniting Church Hall in Gipps Street, Nanango at 7:30pm tonight. The get-together is open to both spectators and performers, and the $2 entry fee includes supper. Everyone is welcome!
Taras Hall Bingo - Nanango
Bingo games will be held at Taras Hall immediately next to Nanango RSL in Henry Street, Nanango at 9:00am this morning (doors open at 9:00am; eyes down at 10:00am sharp). Everyone is welcome! More details? Phone the RSL on (07) 4163-1375.
Kumbia Progress Association Meeting
The Kumbia Progress Association will be holding its 2nd Thursday of the month meeting at the Kumbia QCWA Rooms in Bell Street at 7:30pm tonight, preceded by an optional dinner at the Kumbia Hotel at 6:00pm. Thursday Night AFL Training
The South Burnett Saints men's and women's AFL teams will be holding their regular Thursday night training session at Lyle Vidler Oval in Youngman Street, Kingaroy at 5:45pm tonight. Extra women's players are very welcome, and so are spectators.
Murgon RSL Bingo
The Murgon Services Club in Lamb Street, Murgon will be holding bingo games in the club's premises from 10:30am until around 12:30pm this morning. There's no admission fee, a $700 jackpot prize and new players are very welcome! More details? Phone the club on (07) 4168-1819.
Kumbia Community Morning Tea
The Kumbia Progress Association will be holding a Community Morning Tea at 10:00am this morning at the Kumbia QCWA building in Bell Street. Everyone is welcome along to this free monthly gathering for residents who live in and around the Kumbia area for lots of laughs and a great morning tea.
St Joseph's Bingo - Murgon
St Joseph's Parish Hall in Angel Avenue, Murgon will be hosting bingo games from 7:30pm this evening. There'll be $1000 in prizes on offer as well as a canteen and lucky bingo tickets. Proceeds will go to aid St Joseph's school and community works.
