Composting And Worm Farming Workshop - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Regional Council will be holding a Composting And Worm Farming Workshop at the Town Common Hall in Oliver Bond Street, Kingaroy from 6:00pm to 8:00pm this evening. The workshop will suit anyone with an interest in gardening, soil improvemrent and/or waste reduction, and guests will learn all about how to establish and maintain home composting systems; get the lowdown on worm farming and worm farm assembly; and pick up waste minimisation tips, as well as find out about the benefits of reducing waste. Light refreshments will be served, and there'll also be a compost bin or worm farm as a lucky door prize. The workshop is completely free but to plan catering and seating, an RSVP to the SBRC Waste Education team is essential. You can make one by phoning (07) 3457-2400 or by emailing them. Note: A second workshop will be held this Wednesday at the same venue between 2:00pm and 4:00pm for people who can't make tonight's workshop.
Free Flu Vaccinations - Cherbourg
- The Darling Downs Public Health Unit will be visiting Cherbourg between 9:00am and 12:00 noon today to provide free flu vaccinations and hand out bonus free shirts designed by Roma artist Michael McGuane. The clinic will run at the Cherbourg Council Office and as flu can affect Indigenous people particularly badly, all Cherbourg residents are encouraged to attend. Rising Stars Playgroup - Yarraman
- The Yarraman Rising Stars Playgroup will be meeting at the Yarraman State School Meeting Room between 8:45am and 11:30am this morning. Children involved in the playgroup will get to enjoy a morning of indoor and outdoor play and fun; develop pre-reading and pre-writing skills; form strong relationships with other children; and transition to school more smoothly.
