Art Exhibition Opening - Kingaroy
- The Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery in Haly Street (opposite the peanut silos) will be opening its latest monthly exhibition between 5:30pm and 7:00pm this evening with a wine and cheese night. This month the gallery will be displaying "In View Of The Mountain" by south-east Queensland artist Leonie Chinn, an exhibition of recent works developed with reference to the philosophy of the late Australian philosopher Val Plumwood. Leonie's exhibition was produced with assistance from Moreton Bay Regional Council's RADF fund and this will be only the second time her works have been displayed in the South Burnett. Meanwhile, well known local artist Dianna Bolton will be exhibiting in Gallery 3. Everyone is welcome! Note: After tonight's opening, both exhibitions will remain on display until May 26.
Cheap As Chips Italian Family Night - Kumbia
- Here's something different! The Kumbia Hall Committee will be running their first anniversary Cheap As Chips Family Night in the Bell Street hall at Kumbia from 5:30pm until late this evening. For just $10 per person or $25 for a family of four (additional children $5 each), guests can enjoy a great Italian dinner and dessert prepared by the Hall Committee's expert cooks, plus bottomless tea or coffee - or BYO refreshments if you prefer something different. There'll also be fun trivia games, music and children's activities to keep young ones amused. To help plan the catering an RSVP is necessary, but you can pay at the door on the night. Division 1 Pre-Poll Voting - Nanango
- Residents enrolled to vote in the South Burnett Regional Council's Division 1 can cast a pre-poll vote at the Council's offices in Drayton Street, Nanango between 9:00am and 6:00pm today. The vote will be to select a replacement for Cr Roz Frohloff, who resigned on March 23 after serving Division 1 for six years. Four candidates are standing for the position (Rebecca Jackson, Levi Madeley, Tony Edwards and Jane Erkens) and you can find out more about all of them on our website. The by-election will be held on Saturday, April 30 at a polling booth that will be set up at Nanango State School. Voting is compulsory for all Division 1 residents registered on the electoral roll.
Line Dancing - Yarraman

Kingaroy RSL Bingo

Friday Croquet - Kingaroy
- The Kingaroy Croquet Club will be playing croquet games at the rear of the Kingaroy Cricket Club in Youngman Street, Kingaroy (just next to Beangrowers) from 9:00am to around 11:30am this morning. Friday Night At The Shed - Nanango
- The Shed in Little Drayton Street, Nanango (just next to the Scott Car Park) will be open from 7:00pm until late tonight for local musicians and anyone else who enjoys music to come along, bring their instruments and jam in a relaxed and informal setting, or just sit on the Shed's lounges, listen in and enjoy the wide variety of talent on offer. Friday Social Golf - Proston
- The Proston Golf Club on Brigooda Road, Proston will be holding a Friday afternoon social golf game today. Names need to be in by 2:00pm for a 2:30pm tee-off, and everyone is welcome. 2022 Kingaroy Eisteddfod
- The annual Kingaroy Eisteddfod will be running at Kingaroy Town Hall in Glendon Street, Kingaroy from 8:30pm until about 5:00pm this afternoon. Today is the second (and final) day of music entries, and the public is very welcome to come along and watch. Entry fees per session are $5 for adults, $3 for pensioners and children under 5 are free. The Eisteddfod will conclude on Sunday, May 8th.
DJ Serendipity - Kingaroy

Friday Night Soccer - Kingaroy
- Nanango Women will play Kingaroy Easts Women at Tom Alford Oval at the end of Oliver Bond Street, Kingaroy at 6:15pm tonight in the second round of this year's senior football competition, followed by Barambah taking on Kingaroy Wests in the men’s game at 7:45pm. A canteen will be operating in the grounds and spectators are very welcome. Note: A second men's game will be played at the same grounds tomorrow.
South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
- The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
