Nanango Show And Rodeo

The 113th annual Nanango Show will get underway at the Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street, Nanango at 7:30am this morning with Show Jumping, followed at 8:30am with Show Harness Classes, and then at noon with Local and District Horse Classes. The annual Young Judges and Handlers competitions will be held at 4:00pm along with barrel racing in the main arena. The Showgrounds' bar will open at 5:00pm and a full NRA-affiliated Nanango Rodeo will kick off at 7:00pm which will feature an Open Bull Ride; a Feature Bull Ride; a Novice Bull Ride; a Junior Bull Ride; and a Mini Bull Ride (for U12s and U15s), as well as the finals of the NBHA Barrel Racing. Sideshow Alley will also be open and food will be available all day in the grounds as well. Two-day tickets to today's activities and tomorrow's main Show day are $20 for adults, $15 for concessions or $40 for a family of four, and can be booked online or purchased at the gate.

Line Dancing - Yarraman

South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy

The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
