South Burnett Speedway - Kingaroy
- The South Burnett Speedway will roar into life this afternoon for the second day of the Speedway club's two-day Easter Stampede meeting. Today's action will feature the second rounds and finals of the Production Sedans and Street Stocks 20/20, along with heats and finals for Late Models and National 4's. All four competitions have drawn strong fields of top-flight competitors, and tonight's action will determine the ultimate winners of the Production Sedans and Street Stocks competitions. Pit gates will open at 11:30am and the action will kick off with a Grand Parade at 3:30pm before racing gets underway at 4:00pm. As usual, canteen facilities will be operating at the track and everyone is welcome. Admission is $30 for adults, $15 for students (with ID) and aged or disability pensioners; or $75 for a family of two adults and two students (children 12 and under are free).
Spirit Of The Bush Balladeers Muster - Boondooma
- The sixth day of the week-long Spirit Of The Bush Balladeers & Heritage Muster will be held at Boondooma Homestead at 8262 Durong-Mundubbera Road, Boondooma today. This popular annual campout week features lots of Australia's top bush balladeers and poets (more than 25 will be appearing at the Muster this year) along with walk-up artists. The Muster routinely attracts 700 to 800 caravanners plus day-trippers, and in addition to lots of non-stop music there'll also be great camp oven meals, a licensed bar, BBQ, stalls, and displays of vintage cars and engines, photography and historical items. Today's activities will feature a walk-up poet's breakfast at 8:00am, followed by a church service and gospel hour that will run from 8:00am to 10:00am, and then an Invited Artists Concert from 11:00am to 3:30pm, followed by an Open Mic concert in the Homestead's barn until late tonight. Admission to today's Muster is $10 (bring cash - there's no EFTPOS on site). Bush camping is also available and can be booked by phoning the Homestead's caretakers on (07) 4168-0159. Bunya Mountains Markets
- The monthly Bunya Mountains Markets will be running at Dandabah in the Bunya Mountains today. The markets feature up to 30 stands selling quality, locally-produced fresh produce, arts and crafts and they'll be operating from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Local cafes like Poppies On The Hill and The Bunya Mountains Cafe will be offering special Market Day menus and morning teas, lunches and afternoon teas, and walking trail maps will be available from both cafes, the Bunya Mountains General Store and market stalls if you'd like to take a walk through the adjoining National Park. Timbertowns Woodworkers - Blackbutt
- The Timbertowns Woodworkers group will be holding their regular Sunday morning meeting at the Blackbutt Showgrounds in Bowman Road, Blackbutt from 8:30am until around 12:00 noon today. Kilkivan Railway Markets
- The monthly Kilkivan Railway Markets will be held in Lester Millar Park in Kilkivan from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon this morning. The markets run on the last Sunday of every month and always feature an array of locally produced fruit, vegetables and merchandise. New stallholders are always welcome, too! More details? South Burnett Nutters
- The South Burnett Nutters running group will be holding their monthly 1km (for kids) and 5km (for adults) runs this afternoon. Runners should meet up at the Big Peanut in Kingaroy Street, Kingaroy at 4:00pm (kids) and 4:30pm (adults) to run a circuit around the town. Everyone is welcome!
Hivesville Country Markets
- The Hivesville Country Markets will be held at Memorial Park (opposite the Hivesville Hotel) from 6:00am to about noon this morning. These family-friendly monthly markets are held on the 4th Sunday of every month and feature a variety of stalls including fresh local farm produce, plants, crafts and lots of food. New stallholders are very welcome, too!
Janet Sparkes Memorial Dressage Day
- The South Burnett Equestrian Group will be holding their Janet Sparkes Memorial Dressage Day at the Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street, Nanango from 8:00am this morning through until late this afternoon. Today's event is aimed at Prep and Prelim dressage horses and riders, but there will be classes all the way through to FEI, judged by Maria Schwennesen. Admission is free for spectators and everyone is welcome.
Stonehouse Open Day - Moore
- The historic Stonehouse on the D'Aguilar Highway at Moore will be holding an Open Day from 9:00am to around 3:00pm today. The Open Day will allow visitors to inspect progress on the restoration of this historic Brisbane Valley property by new owners Loretta and John Eastwood, but because parking on the site is limited access will be by bus only. Buses will be running from the Stone Rotunda off the highway in Moore to the Stonehouse and return every 20 minutes throughout the day, and tickets are $10 (or $30 for a family of two adults any any number of children 12 years of age or below). Sunday Bingo - Wondai
- Bingo games will be held at the Wondai RSL in Mackenzie Street, Wondai this afternoon, with eyes down from 1:30pm. There will be 3 jackpots and 15 games on offer, and the kitchen will be open for light meals. Proceeds will go to help Wondai RSL veterans. More details? Phone (07) 4168-5297.

- The South Burnett Orchid Society will be holding their regular monthly meeting at CTC's rooms at the South Burnett Youth Park in Somerset Street, Kingaroy from 2:00pm to around 3:30pm this afternoon. Manumbar Campdraft
- The second day of the three-day 60th Annual Manumbar Campdraft will be held at the Manumbar Campdraft Grounds at 3896 Manumbar Road today, kicking off at 6:00am this morning with the Jack Perrett Memorial Noice Draft which will continue until dusk. And at 9:00am, pony club events for children aged up to 17 will run on a separate field. This year's campdraft features a Maiden, Novice, Junior, Juvenile and Open drafts, and tonight there'll be a dinner at 6:30pm as well. Free on-site camping is available, and takeaway meals are available too if hunger strikes. Admission to the campdraft is 100% free for spectators and everyone is welcome. More details?
