Flood Recovery Fundraising Breakfast - Nanango
A Flood Recovery Fundraising Breakfast to raise money for BlazeAid's efforts to help local victims of recent flooding will be held at Reg McCallum Park in Nanango from 7:00am to 9:00am this morning. The breakfast will be offering sausage or bacon and egg burgers for just $5, as well as tea, coffee or juice for a gold coin donation. One final breakfast will be held in Wondai next Thursday. Everyone is welcome!
Taras Hall Bingo - Nanango
Bingo games will be held at Taras Hall immediately next to Nanango RSL in Henry Street, Nanango at 8:30am this morning (doors open at 8:30am; eyes down at 9:30am sharp). Everyone is welcome! More details? Phone the RSL on (07) 4163-1375.
Visit South Burnett Meet & Greet - Proston
Local tourism organisation Visit South Burnett will be hosting their latest Meet & Greet for 2022 at the Proston Golf Club at 81 Brigooda Rad, Proston from 6:00pm onwards tonight. The meeting will allow guests to inspect the club's facilities, and this will be followed by short buiness presentations from VSB members. Nibbles and drinks will also be provided, but to help plan the catering an RSVP would be appreciated by Thursday, April 14. You can make one by phoning Melanie at VSB on 0455-494-741 or by email. Note: Meals will also be available at the golf club if you want dinner, but you'll need to book ahead by phoning 0474-741-822.
Murgon Men's Shed
The Murgon Men's Shed will be holding a meeting at their shed in Macalister Street, Murgon (the shed next to the former Murgon Railway Station) today. The Men's Shed meets every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday to work on projects and new members are always welcome.
MBDA Breakfast Meeting
The Murgon Business and Development Association will be holding its monthly meeting at the Royal Hotel at the corner of Gore and Lamb streets in Murgon at 6:30am this morning (entry is via Gore Street). The MBDA represents the interests of the businesses and community of Murgon and districts, and monthly meetings discuss new developments in the area and community projects the group are currently undertaking and/or considering, as well as up-coming events. Breakfast is $20 per head and an RSVP to Margaret on (07) 4168-2922 by 4:00pm on Wednesday, April 20 is necessary for catering purposes. All interested people are very welcome to attend.
South Burnett Toastmasters
South Burnett Toastmasters will be holding a meeting in the Anzac Room of Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street, Kingaroy at 6:45pm (for a 7:00pm start) this evening. Toastmasters is a great way to learn how to speak in public and boost your self-confidence, and new members are always very welcome! Meetings are held on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Thursdays of the month. Burnett Business Tour - Murgon
BIEDO will be bringing their 2022 Burnett Business Tour to Murgon Town Hall in Gore Street, Murgon from 5:30pm to 8:30pm tonight. The get-together is jointly sponsored by the South and North Burnett Regional Councils, Stanwell and the Federal Government's Drought Communities Program, and it will provide information about all the different forms of assistance available to Murgon businesses, along with insights into current market conditions, digital solutions and networking opportunities. NaTDA Meeting - Nanango
The Nanango Tourism & Development Association will be holding its monthly dinner meeting in the Long Hai Room at Nanango RSL in Henry Street, Nanango at 6:00pm (for a 6:30pm start) tonight. NaTDA aims to assist, foster, instigate and/or manage any project that could contribute to the advancement of the communities in and around Nanango, and represents the interests of the Nanango community, business and tourism operators. All interested people are very welcome to come along and get involved! Afterwards, the meeting will be followed by an optional social dinner at the RSL's bistro.
Proston Round Table Relaunch
A bring-a-plate meeting to relaunch the Proston Round Table community discussion group will be held at Community Hall in Rodney Street, Proston at 6:00pm tonight. The Round Table provides a monthly forum where community-minded people can share information about upcoming events, discuss ideas and provide feedback to Council about local issues of concern. Everyone is welcome!
Spirit Of The Bush Balladeers Muster - Boondooma
The third day of the week-long Spirit Of The Bush Balladeers & Heritage Muster will be held at Boondooma Homestead at 8262 Durong-Mundubbera Road, Boondooma today. This popular annual campout week features lots of Australia's top bush balladeers and poets (more than 25 will be appearing at the Muster this year) along with walk-up artists. The Muster routinely attracts 700 to 800 caravanners plus day-trippers, and in addition to lots of non-stop music there'll also be great camp oven meals, a licensed bar, BBQ, stalls, and displays of vintage cars and engines, photography and historical items. Today's activities will feature a walk-up poet's breakfast at 8:00am, followed by a walk-up concert that will run from 9:30am until late tonight in the Homestead's barn. Admission to today's Muster is $10 (bring cash - there's no EFTPOS on site). Bush camping is also available and can be booked by phoning the Homestead's caretakers on (07) 4168-0159. The South Burnett Gem and Fossicking Club will be holding their regular Thursday meeting at their club's workshop in the shed at the rear of 44 Alford Street, Kingaroy from 8:30am to around 2:30pm today. Thursday Social Golf - Blackbutt
The Blackbutt Golf Club at 51 Langton Road in Blackbutt will be running social golf games from 3:00pm this afternoon. For just $5, guests can play six holes in the great outdoors in a relaxing atmosphere. The bar will also be open and pies, mushy peas and potatoes will be available as well. Everyone is welcome! Nanango RSL will be holding its weekly Trivia competition from 6:30pm tonight. Wesleyan Food Hampers - Nanango
Wesleyan Grace Community Food Hampers will be available at 36 Fitzroy Street, Nanango from 8:00am to 12:00 noon today. Food hampers are available for a modest price ($30 to $40) for people facing financial difficulties.
South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items). Alcoholics Anonymous - Kingaroy
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to help solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership. A.A. isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution.
