Under The Bonnet - Kingaroy

Kingaroy police will be holding a free Under The Bonnet workshop at the Bill Hull Car Centre at the corner of Kingaroy and Avoca Streets, Kingaroy from 5:30pm to around 7:00pm tonight. The workshop will teach guests about personal safety, road safety and basic car maintenance skills, and men and women of all ages who'd like learn how to become a bit handier around their vehicle are encouraged to attend. Canapes and cold drinks will be provided, too, but numbers are limited so an RSVP to help plan the catering would be greatly appreciated. South Burnett Gem & Fossicking Club

The South Burnett Gem and Fossicking Club will be holding their regular Wednesday meeting at their club's Wondai workshop in the old Wondai Railway Station at Coronation Park in the town's CBD from 5:30pm to around 7:30pm tonight. The club embraces all aspects of lapidary (including gem hunting and cutting) and meets every Monday and Thursday in Kingaroy, with Wednesday workshops in Wondai for faceting and silverwork. Division 1 Pre-Poll Voting - Nanango

Residents enrolled to vote in the South Burnett Regional Council's Division 1 can cast a pre-poll vote at the Council's offices in Drayton Street, Nanango between 9:00am and 5:00pm today. The vote will be to select a replacement for Cr Roz Frohloff, who resigned on March 23 after serving Division 1 for six years. Four candidates are standing for the position, and you can find out more about all of them on our website. Pre-poll voting will be available until 6:00pm on Friday, and the by-election will be held on Saturday, April 30. Voting is compulsory.

Alcoholics Anonymous - Murgon

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to help solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership. AA isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution. AA meets in Murgon every Wednesday from 6:00pm to around 7:30pm at the Baptist Church at 94 MacAlister Street, and members who can't make it in person can join in the meeting online via Zoom. South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy

The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
