South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Community Peanut Party - Kingaroy
A Community Peanut Party In The Park will be held at Lions Park in Kingaroy Street, Kingaroy from 9:00am to noon this morning to officially launch Kingaroy's new peanut sculpture. The event will feature a free sausage sizzle run by the Kingaroy Men's Shed; free fairy floss and face painting for children; a colouring-in competition to win free passes to the Kingaroy Cinema; live entertainment from Mr Q; give away prizes; and a chance to meet the sculptor who put the statue together. The opening ceremony will occur at 10:30am and everyone who contributed to the sculpture in any way is very welcome to attend.
Speed Dating In The Nude - Nanango
The Nanango Theatre Company will be presenting the final two performances of their latest production "Speed Dating In The Nude (And Other Romantic Catastrophes)" - five side-splitting one act comedies - at their Playhouse at the corner of Elk and George Streets, Nanango at 1:00pm this afternoon, and again at 7:00pm tonight. Tickets are $20 for adults or $15 for concessions, and are strictly limited. You can book them online at Trybooking.com.
Cent Auction - Nanango
A cent auction to raise funds for the McGrath Foundation and breast cancer research will be held at Taras Hall next to Nanango RSL in Henry Street, Nanango this morning. Doors will open at 10:30am and the auction will get under way at 12:30pm sharp. Admission is $5 for adults or $2 for children, which includes (for adults) a free sheet of tickets, a lucky door ticket and tea or coffee. Everyone is welcome!
Sunshine State MX Series - Kingaroy
The first day of the weekend-long Round 3 of the Sunshine State MX Series will be held at the South Burnett Junior MX Club's track at Edenvale (behind Kingaroy Airport) from around 8:00am this morning until around 2:00pm this afternoon. This competition routinely attracts hundreds of Australia's best MX riders who'll all by vying for a slice of the big prize monies on offer, and it should offer a ton of pulse-pounding action for MX racing fans. Daily admission for spectators is just $10 for adults or $5 for young people under 13. Everyone is welcome!
Pig Out Night - Yarraman
The Royal Hotel on the D'Aguilar Highway at Yarraman will be hosting a Pig Out Night from 5:00pm to 7:00pm this evening, followed by a live entertainment by Just Me from 7:00pm until late. For just $20 per head for adults (or $15 for children aged 12-16), guests can tuck into a buffet of spit-roasted pork and chicken along with roast vegies, gravy, applesauce and dessert. South Burnett Gem Show - Wondai
The South Burnett Gem and Fossicking Club will be holding the first day of their two-day Gem, Rock and Lapidary Show at the Wondai Sportsgrounds on the Bunya Highway north of Wondai's CBD from 9:00am to 4:00pm today. The event will feature unique crystal, rock and mineral displays; a dealer pavilion; outdoor tailgaters; and lots of fun for the kids including sand sieving; Thunder Egg cutting; lucky dips and free face painting. Food and drink stalls will be operating in the grounds, too, and there'll be a minerals numbers board as well. Footy Fever - Blackbutt
The Blackbutt-Yarraman Timbertowners rugby league football club will be staging Footy Fever - an Under-30s vs Over-30s match - at Ian "Bunny" Pearce Oval in Blackbutt from 12:00 noon today. In addition to a fun afternoon of footy - which should kick off around 2:00pm - there'll also be a BBQ and bar running. Everyone is welcome!

Popular South Burnett entertainer Matthew Wild will be performing over dinner on the rear deck of the Radnor Hotel in Coulson Street, Blackbutt from 6:00pm to 9:00pm tonight. The Wondai parkrun group will be holding their weekly 5km timed runs at Coronation Park in Wondai at 7:00am this morning. Runners follow a course along the South Burnett Rail Trail and the parkrun group is free to join. The Proston parkrun group will be holding its weekly 5km timed walk/run at Railway Park in Rodney Street, Proston at 7:00am this morning. Nanango Country Markets
The Nanango Show Society will be holding their regular monthly Country Markets at the Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street from 6:00am to around 12:00 noon today. As usual, the markets will feature a wide variety of craft stalls, new and used goods, plants, poultry and pets, but they'll be operating in a COVID Safe way. The Nanango Markets are the largest rural market in south east Queensland and attract up to 420 stallholders. But new stallholders are always very welcome too! More info?
