Burnett Business Tour - Kingaroy
- BIEDO will be bringing their 2022 Burnett Business Tour to the South Burnett TAFE in Geitz Road, Kingaroy from 5:30pm to 8:30pm tonight. The get-together is jointly sponsored by the South and North Burnett Regional Councils, Stanwell and the Federal Government's Drought Communities Program, and it will provide information about all the different forms of assistance available to Kingaroy businesses, along with insights into current market conditions, digital solutions and networking opportunities. The evening is free and food and drinks will be supplied, but to plan the catering an RSVP would be appreciated. You can make one on BIEDO's website. Note: This event will also be held in Murgon on Thursday.
Spirit Of The Bush Balladeers Muster - Boondooma
- The second day of the week-long Spirit Of The Bush Balladeers & Heritage Muster will be held at Boondooma Homestead at 8262 Durong-Mundubbera Road, Boondooma today. This popular annual campout week features lots of Australia's top bush balladeers and poets (more than 25 will be appearing at the Muster this year) along with walk-up artists. The Muster routinely attracts 700 to 800 caravanners plus day-trippers, and in addition to lots of non-stop music there'll also be great camp oven meals, a licensed bar, BBQ, stalls, and displays of vintage cars and engines, photography and historical items. Today's activities will feature a walk-up poet's breakfast at 8:00am, followed by a walk-up concert that will run from 9:30am until late tonight in the Homestead's barn. Admission to today's Muster is $10 (bring cash - there's no EFTPOS on site). Bush camping is also available and can be booked by phoning the Homestead's caretakers on (07) 4168-0159. SBRC Standing Committee Meeting - Kingaroy
- The South Burnett Regional Council will be holding its monthly Finance Standing Committee Meeting at the Warren Truss Chambers inside its Glendon Street offices in Kingaroy from 9:00am this morning. Interested people can view the meeting via a livestream on the Council's website.
Nanango Men's Shed
- The Nanango Men's Shed at the corner of Mt Stanley Road and Heathermore Lane, Nanango will be open from 8:30am to around 12:30pm today for its regular Monday get-together. Wednesday Night Dance Classes
- Dance classes will be held at Inverlaw Hall on Burrandowan Road at Inverlaw from 7:30pm tonight. The classes are a great way to learn ballroom dancing classics like the Quick Step, Jazz Waltz, Swing Waltz, Evening Three Step and many more, and class fees are just $4. More details? - The Murgon Men's Shed will be holding a meeting at their shed in Macalister Street, Murgon (the shed next to the former Murgon Railway Station) today. The Men's Shed meets every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday to work on projects and new members are always welcome.
Timbertowns Woodworkers
- The Timbertowns Woodworkers group will be holding their regular Wednesday morning meeting at the Blackbutt Showgrounds in Bowman Road, Blackbutt from 8:00am until around 12:00 noon today. South Burnett Gem & Fossicking Club
- The South Burnett Gem and Fossicking Club will be holding their regular Wednesday meeting at their club's Wondai workshop in the old Wondai Railway Station at Coronation Park in the town's CBD from 5:30pm to around 7:30pm tonight. The club embraces all aspects of lapidary (including gem hunting and cutting) and meets every Monday and Thursday in Kingaroy, with Wednesday workshops in Wondai for faceting and silverwork. Alcoholics Anonymous - Murgon
- Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to help solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership. AA isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution. AA meets in Murgon every Wednesday from 6:00pm to around 7:30pm at the Baptist Church at 94 MacAlister Street, and members who can't make it in person can join in the meeting online via Zoom. South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
- The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
