South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Western Performance Club Beginner's Show
The South Burnett Western Performance Club will be holding a Beginners Show at their grounds in Racecourse Road, Nanango from 9:00am to around 4:30pm today. A qualified judge will be presiding over this PHAA-approved event, and new riders are very welcome (membership of the club is just $10 for participants). A canteen will be running throughout and spectators are very welcome to come along too - there's no admission charge.
Sunday Bingo - Wondai
Bingo games will be held at the Wondai RSL in Mackenzie Street, Wondai this afternoon, with eyes down from 1:30pm. There will be 3 jackpots and 15 games on offer, and the kitchen will be open for light meals. Proceeds will go to help Wondai RSL veterans. More details? Phone (07) 4168-5297.
Sunshine State MX Series - Kingaroy
The second (and final) day of the weekend-long Round 3 of the Sunshine State MX Series will be held at the South Burnett Junior MX Club's track at Edenvale (behind Kingaroy Airport) from around 8:00am this morning until around 2:00pm this afternoon. This competition routinely attracts hundreds of Australia's best MX riders who'll all by vying for a slice of the big prize monies on offer, and it should offer a ton of pulse-pounding action for MX racing fans. Admission for spectators is just $10 for adults or $5 for young people under 13. Everyone is welcome!
Sunday Poker - Kingaroy
Sunday afternoon poker games will be played at Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street, Kingaroy today. Registrations start at 2:00pm and play begins at 2:30pm. All games are free to play and there are prizes for first, second and third. More details? Phone the RSL on (07) 4162-1755
Yarraman Country Music Friends
The Country Music Friends will be holding their first Sunday of the month informal concert at the Yarraman Memorial Hall in Browne Street, Yarraman from 1:00pm this afternoon. This ACMA-affiliated club meets every month except January, and the $4 admission fee (U16s are free) includes a great afternoon tea. New players are always very welcome! More details? Timbertowns Woodworkers - Blackbutt
The Timbertowns Woodworkers group will be holding their regular Sunday morning meeting at the Blackbutt Showgrounds in Bowman Road, Blackbutt from 8:30am until around 12:00 noon today. South Burnett Gem Show - Wondai
The South Burnett Gem and Fossicking Club will be holding the second day of their two-day Gem, Rock and Lapidary Show at the Wondai Sportsgrounds on the Bunya Highway north of Wondai's CBD from 9:00am to 4:00pm today. The event will feature unique crystal, rock and mineral displays; a dealer pavilion; outdoor tailgaters; and lots of fun for the kids including sand sieving; Thunder Egg cutting; lucky dips and free face painting. Food and drink stalls will be operating in the grounds, too, and there'll be a minerals numbers board as well. Kumbia Museum
The Kumbia and District Historical Society's museum, located in the Federation Heritage Centre behind Kumbia Hall in Bell Street, will be open from 1:30pm to 3:30pm this afternoon.
