Blackbutt Christmas Festival Craft Fair
- The second-last day of week long 13th annual Blackbutt-Benarkin Lions Club Christmas Festival will kick into gear at 9:00am this morning at the Blackbutt Memorial Hall in Coulson Street, Blackbutt when the hall's doors open for the annual annual Arts & Crafts Fair, which run until 6:00pm tonight (and also from 8:30am to 12:00 noon tomorrow). The Arts & Crafts Fair is a perfect opportunity to pick up unique, unusual and inexpensive Christmas gifts and this year it's being sponsored by Bendigo Bank's Blackbutt, Yarraman and Nanango branches, so admission is free. Blue Light Skating - Nanango
- The Nanango Blue Light Disco committee will be holding their regular first Friday of the month U13s Skating Night at the Nanango Skating Rink in George Street, Nanango from 6:00pm to 9:00pm tonight. Art Exhibition - Wondai
- The Wondai Regional Art Gallery on the roundabout at Wondai will be opening their final monthly exhibition for 2013 with a wine and cheese tasting at 6:00pm. Tonight's show is by the "Nature In The Raw" art group and the entire galley will feature their works. The group has been exhibiting around Queensland since February 2000 (as well as Germany and thde UK), and many national and internatioonal award-winning artists are part of it - so it promises to be quite a show! As usual, tonight's opening will also feature great hot and cold finger foods and punch, along with wine tastings from Bellbird Vineyards, live entertainment from Guy Davis and great socialising. Jest Call Me Cowboy - Kingaroy
- The Nanango Theatre Company will be performing their latest theatre-restaurant production "Jest Call Me Cowboy" at the Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street, Kingaroy at 7:00pm this evening. This hilarious new show spoofs the cowboys and indians genre, and has been written by South Burnett playwright Judith Prior. Tickets - which include a great two course meal and the chance to win prizes - are $40 per head (or $35 per head for groups of eight or more). They can be booked by phoning Brad on (0409) 895-527. Friday Social Golf - Kingaroy
- The Kingaroy Golf Club on the Bunya Highway at Kingaroy will holding their regular Friday 9-ers 9 hole social golfing sessions for men and women from 8:00am until dusk today. Everyone is most welcome (including non-members) and green fees are $11 for members or $14 for non-members for the nine holes - but this also includes a card draw for prizes in the clubhouse in the evening (there's also a Jackpot card draw on the last Friday of each month). - The South Burnett Darts Association will be holding their regular weekly Social Competition Night from 7:00pm to 10:00pm at their premises at Shed 1, 18 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. Nanango Historical Society Christmas Dinner
- The Nanango Historical Society will be holding their annual Christmas Dinner at Ringsfield House at 45 Alfred Street, Nanango from 6:30pm tonight (dinner is served at 7:00pm). Tickets are $40 per head and this includes a great Christmas dinner; a special guest speaker; and wine, tea and coffee. Beer will also be available for a gold coin donation per bottle. Friday Night Social Bowls - Murgon
- The Murgon Bowls Club in Macalister Street, Murgon will be holding Friday Night Social Bowls from 6:00pm onwards this evening (bar opens at 4:00m; games start at 6:30pm). South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
- The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 11:00am to 1:00pm today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $35 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
