South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Kilkivan Community Christmas Carnival
The Kilkivan Touch Football Association, Kilkivan Swimming Club, Kilkivan Kindergarten P&C, Kilkivan Stock Horse Society and Kilkivan Show Society will be jointly presenting the new-look Kilkivan Community Christmas Carnival at the Kilkivan Showgrounds from 5:00pm until late tonight. The Carnival will feature children's rides; live entertainment from popular country-rock performer Graeme Jensen; a special visit by Santa Claus; Christmas carols sung by students from Kilkivan State School; a Ham Draw; and a Business House Draw. There'll also be a licensed bar in operation and plenty of food too. The Carnival is being supported by the Kilkivan Auto Centre, Kilkivan Bowls Club, Kilkivan News & Takeaway, Kilkivan Post Office, Kilkivan Fine Art & Antiques, The Left Bank, Kilkivan Meats, Kilkivan Tyre & Rural Supplies, Smart HR Solutions, Gympie Regional Council, Powers Transport and Goomeri's Grand Hotel, and admission is 100% free.
Yarraman Community Christmas Carols
Yarraman will be holding its traditional Carols By Candlelight service in the Errol Munt Recreation Grounds off the New England Highway just west of the CBD from 6:00pm onwards tonight when the BBQs fire up. Carols will begin at 7:00pm and all you need to bring is a chair, blanket, candlelight and your Christmas spirit. Everyone is welcome! This year's event is jointly sponsored by the Yarraman Community Council, the churches of Yarraman and Yarraman's Bendigo Bank branch.
Debbie Robertson - Nanango
Popular entertainer Debbie Robertson will be performing at the Nanango RSL in Henry Street, Nanango from 7:00pm to 11:00pm tonight. Admission is free. More details from the club on (07) 4163-1375.
Proston Christmas Carnival
The annual Proston Christmas Carnival will be held at the Proston Showgrounds on the Proston-Boondooma Road, Proston from 6:00pm this evening. The Carnival includes raffles, turkey and ham wheels, food stalls, a bar, free jumping castle, free merry-go-round, Christmas carols, Santa and much more. Saturday Night With Mr Q - Blackbutt
The Radnor Hotel in Coulson Street, Blackbutt will be playing host to popular South Burnett entertainer Mr Q. from 7:00pm until late tonight. Admission is free and everyone is welcome. More details from the hotel on (07) 4163-0203.
Wondai Christmas Country Markets
The Wondai Regional Art Gallery's popular monthly Wondai Country Markets will be operating at Coronation Park in Wondai's CBD from 7:00am to 12:00 noon today - one week earlier than usual due to Christmas. Today's markets will feature stallholders selling fresh fruit and vegetables, arts and crafts, useful knick-knacks and clothing. There'll also be live entertainment; lots and lots of other stalls selling great gifts and goodies; and special hand-made treasures from local artisans available from the Gallery's new "Studio" building just a short stroll across the park. Naturally, there'll be a Christmas theme to this morning's activities and this will also be a great opportunity to shop for Christmas presents too. The Wondai Kindergarten's BBQs will also be firing up from 6:45am to dish out hearty breakfasts to early bargain hunters. Official Unveiling Of Wondai Chloe
The Wondai Hotel in Haly Street, Wondai will be officially unveiling their copy of "Chloe" - the famous painting fom Melbourne's Young & Jackson Hotel - at 12:00 noon today. The copy is the only one in existence and is slightly larger than the original (you can read all about the painting on our website. It will be officially unveiled by Acting Mayor Keith Campbell, after which the hotel will be throwing on a party all afternoon with saxophonist Tom McKenzie playing on the rear deck and drink specials on La Boheme wines from the Yarra Valley to welcome Chloe to the establishment. Everyone is welcome and admission is free.
Christmas Dance - Booie
A Christmas Dance will be held at Booie Hall from 8:00pm until around midnight. Music will be supplied by Jus' Dancin' and there'll be the usual great supper, novelties and lucky door prize - plus a few Yuletide surprises! Seafood Smorgasbord - Wondai
Dimities Cottage at 49 Haly Street, Wondai will be holding another of their popular monthly all-you-can-eat Seafood Smorgasbords from 6:30pm this evening (dinner starts at 7:00pm). Pool Comp and Karaoke - Blackbutt
Here's a fun way to spend a Saturday! The Blackbutt RSL & CMC at the corner of Muir and Douglas Streets in Blackbutt will be holding a combined Pool Competition and Karaoke Night today. The Pool Competition will start at 1:00pm and the Karaoke will get underway around 6:00pm. Everyone is welcome, and you can obtain more details by phoning the RSL on (07) 4163-0444. Note: The RSL will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day, and the RSL's kitchen will be closed from the 25th to 30th. Otherwise things will be running as normal right through the Festive Season.

The third Saturday of the month Friendship Markets will be held at the Senior Citizens Centre in Avoca Street, Kingaroy from 6:30am to around 12:00pm today.
