Hospital Afternoon Tea Feedback Session - Kingaroy
The Darling Downs and District Health Board will be holding an afternoon tea for mothers and fathers who have previously used Kingaroy Hospital’s maternity services or are current clients to gather feedback on ways to improve the hospital's maternity services in the future. The DDHHS would also be interested to hear about the experiences of mothers who chose not to birth at Kingaroy Hospital, and why. Vegetation Legislation Information Session - Kingaroy
An information day to explain new vegetation legislation will be held at the South Burnett Enterprise Centre at 6 Cornish Street, Kingaroy from 10:00am this morning. The seminar is being run by the Department of Natural Resources and Mines, and you can read more about it on this page of our website.
Kingaroy Christmas Carnival Committee Meeting
The South Burnett Young Leaders Association will be running the Kingaroy Christmas Carnival again this year in conjunction with key members of the community. And if you'd like to assist with this year's Carnival, you're very welcome to come along to the monthly planning meeting which will be held in the lounge area of Ruby's Restaurant inside the Broadway Hotel in Kingaroy Street, Kingaroy from 6:00pm to around 7:00pm tonight. Wondai Community Kitchen
The Wondai Community Kitchen group will be holding their regular 2nd Tuesday of the month meeting at the Wondai Town Hall in Mackenzie Street, Wondai from 1:00pm to 3:00pm this afternoon. Community Kitchen members learn how to cook simple, healthy foods in a communal environment that all members then share; how to read and understand food labels; and how to save money by modifying recipes. Tuesday Night Darts - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Darts Association will be holding their regular Tuesday night darts competition from 7:00pm to 10:00pm at their premises at Shed 1, 18 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. A $6 playing fee applies, but there's also a fully liocensed bar and raffles too. Swimming For Fitness - Blackbutt
The South Burnett Regional Council's new Swimming For Fitness program (for adults) will be held between 10:00am and 11:00am this morning at the Blackbutt Swimming Pool at the corner of Sutton and Margaret Streets, Blackbutt. This gold coin donation program is run by a local swimming coach and is open to adults of all fitness and ability levels. It aims to teach new ways to become physically active and how to stay active for life. If you're coming along, bring your swimming togs, a towel, sun protection and (if applicable) medication. Lift For Life Session - Blackbutt
The South Burnett Regional Council's Healthy Communities program will be holding a gold coin donation "Lift For Life" strength training program at the Blackbutt Showgrounds in Bowman Road, Blackbutt from 1:00pm to 2:00pm this afternoon. This new program - which offers a six-month, low cost course in strength training for people of all ages and fitness levels - will help prevent and/or manage Type 2 diabetes and other chronic health conditions. Lift For Life sessions are held twice-weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays and if you plan to attend you should bring comfortable shoes, a towel, a water bottle and (if applicable) medication. Men's Shed - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Men's Shed will be open from 9:00am to 12:00 noon and 2:00pm to 4:00pm today behind the Salvation Army's headquarters at 44 Alford Street in Kingaroy.
