Blackbutt Christmas Festival Window Judging
The third day of the 13th annual Blackbutt-Benarkin Lions Club Christmas Festival occurs today, when the town's Christmas business window displays get judged and the winner and runner-up get announced. The Christmas Festival itself will continue daily until Saturday, December 7 and the next big public event - the Free Over 60s Lunch - will occur on Thursday. More details? Kingaroy Writers Association Meeting
- The Kingaroy Writers' Association will be meeting between 9:30am and 12:00 noon this morning at the Uniting Church Hall on the corner of Alford and Youngman Streets in Kingaroy. Members meet on the first and third Tuesdays of each month to share their work with other members and take part in writing and word exercises. Kingaroy Christmas Carnival Committee Meeting
The South Burnett Young Leaders Association will be running the Kingaroy Christmas Carnival again this year in conjunction with key members of the community. And if you'd like to assist with this year's Carnival, you're very welcome to come along to the monthly planning meeting which will be held in the lounge area of Ruby's Restaurant inside the Broadway Hotel in Kingaroy Street, Kingaroy from 6:00pm to around 7:00pm tonight.

- The South Burnett Regional Council's new Swimming For Fitness program (for adults) will be held between 10:00am and 11:00am this morning at the Blackbutt Swimming Pool at the corner of Sutton and Margaret Streets, Blackbutt. This gold coin donation program is run by a local swimming coach and is open to adults of all fitness and ability levels. Lift For Life Session - Blackbutt
The South Burnett Regional Council's Healthy Communities program will be holding a gold coin donation "Lift For Life" strength training program at the Blackbutt Showgrounds in Bowman Road, Blackbutt from 1:00pm to 2:00pm this afternoon. This new program - which offers a six-month, low cost course in strength training for people of all ages and fitness levels - will help prevent and/or manage Type 2 diabetes and other chronic health conditions.
