Murgon Christmas Fair
- The Murgon Business and Development Association will be staging Murgon's 21st Annual Christmas Fair from 5:30pm until 9:30pm this afternoon and evening in Lamb Street, Murgon. Highlights of this year's Christmas Fair include live entertainment from street performers, stage and roving entertainers; lots of $3 children's rides; heaps of food stalls and around $6,000 in prizes and giveaways to be won for lucky shoppers who've been patronising Murgon's Christmas Fair stores. As usual, Santa Claus will also be making an appearance to delight the youngsters and pose for photographs with them betwen 6:00pm and 8:00pm, and the event will be professionally emceed too. Endeavour Foundation Bingo - Kingaroy
- The Endeavour Foundation will be holding bingo games at Kingaroy RSL from 10:00am this morning. There'll be four jackpots on offer, as well as a raffle. Everyone is welcome.
Nanango Christmas Carnival
- The Nanango Christmas Carnival will be held at the Nanango Blue Light Hall in George Street, Nanango from 6:00pm to 8:30pm this evening. This year's Carnival will offer face painting for children; Christmas crafts; Lucky Wheels; games and skating. Santa will be arriving at 7:00pm to hand out ice blocks and lollies and pose for photo opportunities. Entry is free and skates can be hired for a gold coin donation. Art Exhibition Opening - Kingaroy
- The Kingaroy Art Gallery will be officially opening its final exhibition for 2013 - "A Collection From The Artists' Verandah" - at 6:00pm this evening. The new exhibition features works by a range of Nanango artists, and several of these will be in attendance tonight. The exhibition will remain on show at the Gallery until Monday January 6. - The Kingaroy Golf Club on the Bunya Highway at Kingaroy will holding their regular Friday 9-ers 9 hole social golfing sessions for men and women from 8:00am until dusk today. Everyone is most welcome (including non-members) and green fees are $11 for members or $14 for non-members for the nine holes - but this also includes a card draw for prizes in the clubhouse in the evening (there's also a Jackpot card draw on the last Friday of each month). - The Murgon Bowls Club in Macalister Street, Murgon will be holding Friday Night Social Bowls from 6:00pm onwards this evening (bar opens at 4:00m; games start at 6:30pm). The $15 green fee includes all games and a great BBQ dinner, and it's open to bowlers and non-bowlers alike - just wear soft-soled shoes or go barefoot. South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
- The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 11:00am to 1:00pm today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $35 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
