South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Back To Booie Hall Celebration
The Booie Hall Association will be marking the centenary of when fundraising began to build the Booie Hall with a day and night program today. There will be memorabilia in the hall and displays outside from 11:00am this morning, with lunch and afternoon tea available to buy. The anniversary cake will be cut at 1:00pm. The displays will be dismantled at 4:00pm to make way for an old-time dance which will be held from 7:30pm tonight. There will be supper, a monte carlo, raffle, novelty events and music by the Silver Comets Band. Cost to attend the dance is adults $12.50, high school students $6 and family passes $30.
Goomeri Lions Community Christmas Carnival
Goomeri Lions will be hosting an "Artisans, Makers and Marketeers" mini market (free stalls) from 4:30pm to 8:00pm this evening alongside the annual Lions Community Christmas Carnival at Goomeri Showgrounds. There'll also be chips, drinks, ice cream and coffee, live entertainment and fireworks! For more info about stalls, phone Ree on 0429-987-785.
South Burnett Community Orchestra Concert - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Community Orchestra will be "Celebrating 2024" with a concert from 7:00pm tonight (doors open at 6:30pm) at the Kingaroy Town Hall. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children (primary school age) and can be booked online
South Burnett Chorale Carols - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Chorale will be singing Christmas Carols (but not as you know them!) from 3:00pm this afternoon at the Church of Christ, 254 Haly Street, Kingaroy. Tickets are $15 (children under 12 are free) which includes afternoon tea. Tickets can be booked online or purchased at the door!
Blu-Fuze - Kingaroy
Blu-Fuze will be playing music from the '60s through to the '90s at the Kingaroy RSL Club in Markwell Street, Kingaroy from 7:00pm tonight in the Tobruk Room. Admission is free. More details from the RSL on (07) 4162-1755.
Christmas Party - Woolooga
There'll be a Christmas Party from 4:00pm this afternoon at the Woolooga Community Hall, 8 Thomas Street. There'll be games with Santa due to pop in at 5:00pm. Dinner will be available from 5:00pm, followed by a dance with music by Junction Road.
Hard Yakka Rock Show - Kingaroy

Pig On The Spit Night - Maidenwell
The Maidenwell Hotel's popular monthly Pig On A Spit Night will be running from 6:00pm until late this evening with live music by Mr Q from 7:20pm to late. Guests can get stuck into more pork than they can poke a fork at, all served up with with roast potatoes, pumpkin, corn, peas, carrots and gravy for $28 per head (chicken and beef options are available too) or $15 for U12s. Saturday Library Day - Maidenwell
The volunteers from the Maidenwell QCWA will be supervising the regular weekly Saturday Library Day (featuring books loaned from Kingaroy Library) from 2:00pm to 4:00pm this afternoon. A library day is held in the Maidenwell Hall in Pool Street every Wednesday and Saturday.
Car Boot Sale - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Men's Shed will be holding another of their regular Car Boot Sales at their premises in Geoff Raph Drive near Kingaroy Airport from 8:00am to 11:30am this morning. There'll be hand-crafted goods, old furniture, tools, bric-a-brac and a sausage sizzle. Stall sites are free! Everyone is welcome to browse for bargains.
Proston Men's Shed

In South Burnett Junior Cricket Stage 2, Nanango Scorpions v Kingaroy Kookaburras at Alan Downie Sportsfields, Nanango; Murgon v Tingoora Moppets at Murgon Showgrounds. Kingaroy Cobras have the bye. In Stage 3, Nanango Scorpions v Kingaroy at Alan Downie Sports Fields, Nanango. All junior games start at 8:00am. Rounds 1 & 2 of the South Burnett Senior T20 competition will be played today. Round 1 games start at 11:30am: Wooroolin Warriors v Wondai at Kingaroy State School; Tingoora Vikings v Tingoora Huntsmen at Taabinga State School; Kingaroy Services v Nanango Scorpions at Alan Downie Sportsfields, Nanango; Round 2 games start at 3:00pm: Wooroolin Warriors v Tingoora Vikings at Kingaroy State School, Kingaroy Services v Wondai at Taabinga State School; and Nanango Scorpions v Tingoora Huntsmen at Alan Downie Sportsfields, Nanango;. There will be one Gympie A Grade game played in the South Burnett: Wooroolin Warriors v Murgon Crusaders at Lyle Vidler Oval, Kingaroy, from 12:30pm.
Nanango Men's Shed
The Nanango Men's Shed at the corner of Mt Stanley Road and Heathermore Lane, Nanango will be open from 8:30am to around noon today for its regular Saturday get-together. Yarraman Holistic & Wellness Community Market
The Yarraman Progress Association's Holistic & Wellness Markets will be held from 8:00am to noon today at Errol Munt Reserve in Margaret Street, Yarraman. The markets are held on last Saturday of every month and include live music, local products and produce, a car boot sale and health stalls. The Blackbutt parkrun group will be holding its weekly 5km timed walk/run along the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail at Blackbutt from 7:00am this morning. The starting line is adjacent to the Roy Emerson Museum, off Bowman Road. Runners follow a course along the former railway line and the parkrun group is free to join.
