Art of the Forest - Bunya Mountains

Day 1 of the two-day free exhibition, “Art of the Forest”, by Frida Forsberg will held in a marquee in the grounds of the Bunya Mountains Accommodation Centre at Dandabah on the Bunya Mountains from 10:00am to 3:00pm today. There are also limited places available at two all-ages workshops to be held today:

• Gondwanan Landscapes - 11:00am - An acrylic painting workshop led by Frida Forsberg – cost $25

• Indigenous Weaving – 2:00pm - An interactive workshop led by Gamilaraay and Anaiwan woman Christina Howard (Dhamali-Gu Minyaarr) – cost $25

Sawdust In Our Veins Launch - Blackbutt

The Blackbutt District Tourism and Heritage Association will be officially launching a video documentary today, "Sawdust In Our Veins", which chronicles the history of the timber industry in Benarkin, Blackbutt and Taromeo. The event will be held from 6:00pm at Blackbutt Memorial Hall, in Bowman Road. The Janet Skinner Art Collection will also be officially unveiled. Ally Walker Dance Academy Concert - Kingaroy

Wondai Country Markets

The Wondai Regional Art Gallery's monthly Wondai Country Markets will be operating at Coronation Park in Wondai's CBD from 7:00am to 12:00 noon this morning. The markets feature stallholders selling fresh fruit and vegetables, arts and crafts, useful knick-knacks and clothing. There'll also be live entertainment; lots of other stalls selling great gifts and goodies; and special hand-made treasures from local artisans. The BBQs will also be firing up from around 6:45am to dish out hearty breakfasts for early bargain hunters.
