South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Art of the Forest - Bunya Mountains
Day 2 of the two-day free exhibition, “Art of the Forest”, by Frida Forsberg will held in a marquee in the grounds of the Bunya Mountains Accommodation Centre at Dandabah on the Bunya Mountains from 9:00am to 4:00pm today. There will be an official opening at 11:00am by South Burnett Mayor Kathy Duff. Entry to the Art Of The Forest exhibition, which also features paintings by Niketa Law and other local artists, is free.
Bunya Mountains Markets
The monthly Bunya Mountains Markets will be running at Dandabah in the Bunya Mountains today. The markets feature up to 30 stands selling quality, locally-produced fresh produce, arts and crafts and they'll be operating from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Local cafes like Poppies On The Hill and The Bunya Mountains Cafe will be offering special Market Day menus and morning teas, lunches and afternoon teas, and walking trail maps will be available from both cafes, the Bunya Mountains General Store and market stalls if you'd like to take a walk through the adjoining National Park. South Burnett Chorale Carols - Nanango
The South Burnett Chorale will be singing Christmas Carols (but not as you know them!) from 3:00pm this afternoon at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, 37 Gipps Street, Nanango. Tickets are $15 (children under 12 are free) which includes afternoon tea. Tickets can be booked online or purchased at the door!
Kumbia Museum
The Kumbia and District Historical Society's museum, located in the Federation Heritage Centre behind Kumbia Hall in Bell Street, will be open from 1:30pm to 3:30pm this afternoon. Hivesville Country Markets
The monthly Hivesville Country Markets will be held at Memorial Park (opposite the Hivesville Hotel in Main Street) from 7:00am to around noon this morning. These family-friendly markets are held on the 4th Sunday of every month and feature a variety of stalls including fresh local farm produce, plants, crafts and lots of food. New stallholders are very welcome, too!
Hivesville Devonshire Teas
Last one for 2024! Hivesville's QCWA branch will be opening the doors at their rooms in Main Street from 7:00am to noon this morning to offer visitors Devonshire Teas and boutique-style coffee plus plants, crafts and general bric-a-brac items - the perfect complement to the Hivesville Markets just across the road. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy a delicious morning tea and/or browse for a bargain.
Run For Your Wife - Nanango
The Nanango Theatre Company's last performance of their latest hilarious production, "Run For Your Wife", a farce by Ray Cooney, will be performed at their theatre at the corner of Elk and George streets, Nanango in a matinee session at 11:00am today. Tickets are $25 for adults or $20 for concessions, and they can be obtained by phoning Jon on 0407-631-611 or booked online.
Community Pickleball - Woolooga
Woolooga Community Hall is hosting community pickleball every Sunday from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the hall at 8 Thomas Street, Woolooga. Everyone is welcome to come along, including beginners. All equipment is provided at the court, so just bring water!
Sunday Sesh With Mr Q - Nanango
Popular South Burnett duo Yony and Gavin Cisneros (aka Mr Q) will be playing in the courtyard at the Commercial Hotel in Drayton Street, Nanango from 11:30am to around 2:30pm today. Sunday Movie - Nanango

Open Garden - Brooklands
An Open Garden will be held at 86 Boldery Road in Brooklands from 8:30am to 4:00pm today. There'll be flowering daylily seedlings for sale and a craft stall. A delicious morning tea ($7.50) and a barbecue lunch, featuring Beauvale lamb ($15), will be available to purchase. Entry is $5 with funds raised going to the Leukaemia Foundation. Car Boot Sale - Kilkivan
The Kilkivan Community Garden & Railway markets will be hosting a free car boot sale at 2a Bligh Street, Kilkivan, from 7:00am today. This will be the last Kilkivan markets for the year!
Sunday Cricket
South Burnett U12s and U14s sides will be playing Gympie teams today at Murgon Showgrounds in Round 2 of the Wide Bay Junior Intercity representative competition. Games start at 9:00am.
Free Sunday Lunch - Kingaroy
A free community lunch is available every Sunday from 12:30pm to 1:30pm at The Old Railway Station building, O'Neill Square, in Kingaroy. The Community Serving Community Meals Project is co-ordinated by the South Burnett Support Alliance and relies on volunteers from the local community.
