Run For Your Wife - Nanango
- The Nanango Theatre Company will have two performances today of their latest hilarious production, "Run For Your Wife", a farce by Ray Cooney, at their theatre at the corner of Elk and George streets, Nanango. There'll be a matinee performance at 2:00pm followed by night performance at 7:00pm. Tickets are $25 for adults or $20 for concessions, and they can be obtained by phoning Jon on 0407-631-611 or booked online. Note: There'll be three more performances at the same venue next week.
Kingaroy Friendship Markets
- The third Saturday of the month Friendship Markets will be held at Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Street, Kingaroy from 7:00am to around noon today. The markets are run by the Kingaroy Show Society and feature a range of arts, crafts, food stalls, fruit and garden stalls, plus unusual bric-a-brac. New stallholders are always very welcome.
Nanango Homemade Market
- Nanango Homemade are holding their first boutique handmade market this weekend at Ringsfield House, 41-45 Alfred Street, Nanango. Ringsfield will be transformed into a Christmas pop-up shop from 10:00am to 4:00pm on Saturday and Sunday with more than 30 local vendors offering something for everyone! This is an opportunity to support local small businesses, and is supported by NaTDA and Heritage Bank Nanango. Coffee, morning tea and lunch will be available to purchase, and visitors can inspect the historic house.
McHappy Day - Kingaroy
- McHappy Day is on again today at McDonalds restaurants. The day raises funds for Ronald McDonald House. Customers who drop into the company's Kingaroy restaurant today will be able to buy silly socks for $5.95 or a bucket hat for $9.95 to support the charity. As well, $2 from every Big Mac sold will also be donated to the cause.
Proston Community Markets
- The monthly Proston Community Markets - organised by the Proston Show Society and held on the 3rd Saturday of each month - will be running at the QCWA Hall at Railway Park in Rodney Street, Proston from 8:00am to around noon this morning. Stalls feature everything from craftwork to baked goods and bric-a-brac, and are are always fun to browse. There'll also be a great BBQ breakfast. New stalls are welcome and fees are just $5!
Churchyard Op Shop - Nanango

Phat Wag Celebrates - Murgon
- Murgon business The Phat Wag, at 15230 Bunya Highway, is celebrating its second birthday this weekend with two nights of live entertainment. From 5:00pm tonight, Paul Red will be performing plus there will be food available and a licensed bar. Bookings can be made by phoning (07) 4168-3624.
Pro-Nuclear Meeting
- Pro-nuclear lobby group, "Nuclear For Australia", founded by 18-year-old Will Shackel, will be holding an information session from 6:30pm tonight (they have not released the venue publicly). Registrations to attend can be made online (and hopefully, they'll let you know where to turn up!) UPDATE 1: The meeting is being held in Kingaroy although the venue has not been released, but it's probably Kingaroy Town Hall. UPDATE 2: Screenclips shared on Facebook say the doors of the Kingaroy Town Hall will open at 6:00pm, but IDs will be checked at the door.
Mr Q - Kingaroy

- The Nanango Men's Shed at the corner of Mt Stanley Road and Heathermore Lane, Nanango will be open from 8:30am to around noon today for its regular Saturday get-together. Murgon Men's Shed
- The Murgon Men's Shed will be holding a meeting at their shed in Macalister Street, Murgon (the shed next to the former Murgon Railway Station) today. Mega Bowls & Pig On A Spit - Proston
- The Proston Bowls Club in Murphy's Way will be holding a Mega Bowls gathering from 6:00pm tonight as a fundraiser for the Proston K-10 school P&C. The evening will feature a mega raffle, an auction, and fun lawn bowls along with a pig-on-a-spit or juicy steak dinner that includes a main meal, bread roll and dessert for just $20 per adult (or $10 for under-15s). Dinner will start serving at 6:00pm, the first raffle will be drawn at 7:00pm and the auction will get under way at 7:30pm. EFTPOS will be available for the dinner, bowls games and the auction but you should bring cash or coins for the raffles. P&C fundraisers at the bowls club are always a great night out and everyone is welcome!

Junior games start at 8:00am. In Round 6 of the Senior competition: Tingoora Huntsmen v Murgon at Tingoora Sportsground; Nanango Scorpions v Kingaroy Services at Alan Downie Sports Fields, Nanango; Wondai v Tingoora Vikings at Wondai Cricket Ground; and Tingoora Mercenaries v Wooroolin Warriors at Kingaroy State School. Wooroolin Warriors will take on Gympie Royals in a Gympie A Grade at Lyle Vidler Oval, in Kingaroy, from 12:30pm.
Proston Khanacross Round 4
- Proston Car Rally Club will be holding the third round of their weekend-long Proston Khanacross at their race track today (the club's track is located 7.5km west of Proston at 757 Proston-Boondooma Road). Racing will commence at 10:00am this morning and wrap up towards nightfall, when there'll also be a spectacular burnout competition. Up to 50 cars attend Proston Rally Club meetings from all over Queensland and NSW and spectators are very welcome. There'll also be a BBQ and soft drinks stand running throughout the event, as well as a hearty breakfast supplied by the Proston Lions club available early tomorrow morning. Dinner-Dance - Upper Yarraman

Moore Hall Markets
- The monthly Moore Markets will be held outside the Moore Soldiers Memorial Hall off the D'Aguilar Highway in Moore from 7:00am to around 12:00 noon today. The markets are held on the 3rd Saturday of every month and feature hand painted china; hand made jewellery; hand crafted dolls; quilts; biscuit tin banjos; jade; wooden toys; delightful handmade bags; plants; bric-a-brac; antiques and collectables; tea cosies; baby clothes; tea towels; candles; soaps; cakes; jams and pickles, and more. Saturday Library Day - Maidenwell
- The volunteers from the Maidenwell QCWA will be supervising the regular weekly Saturday Library Day (featuring books loaned from Kingaroy Library) from 2:00pm to 4:00pm this afternoon. A library day is held in the Maidenwell Hall in Pool Street every Wednesday and Saturday.
