Ringsfield House Open Day - Nanango
- Historic Ringsfield House, 41-45 Alfred Street, Nanango, is hosting an Open Day today! Local artists will be featured in the new art gallery from 8:00am to 1:00pm; Devonshire teas will be available on the verandah for $12.50 per person from 10:00am to 1:00pm; and there'll be live music in the grounds by singer-songwriter Jeffery T. Joseph from 11:30am to 1:00pm (BYO chair). House inspections are $5 (children free) or free if you've bought a Devonshire tea!
Elegant Afternoon Tea - Murgon
- The 55 Million Years Ago museum and art gallery at 73 Macalister Street, Murgon, will be hosting an elegant afternoon tea, art and craft viewing from 1:30pm to 3:30pm this afternoon. Entry is $10 and bookings are essential as numbers are limited. Phone 0472-741-664.
Cheap As Chips Night - Kumbia
- The Kumbia Hall Committee will be holding another of their monthly Cheap As Chips nights at Kumbia Hall in Bell Street from 6:00pm this evening. As it's Melbourne Cup time, tonight's theme is "Giddiup Kumbia". Pink it up and dress race style! As well as a two-course dinner, there'll also be a trivia competition, games, raffle, lucky door prize and a licensed bar. Dance - Booie Hall
- A dance will be held at Booie Hall, 1226 Booie Road, from 6:30pm tonight. Music will be supplied by the Silver Comets Band and there'll be a light supper, monte carlo and raffle. Nanango Country Markets
- The Nanango Show Society will be holding their regular monthly Country Markets at the Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street from 6:00am to around 12:00 noon today. As usual, the markets will feature a wide variety of craft stalls, new and used goods, plants, poultry and pets, but they'll be operating in a COVID Safe way. The Nanango Markets are the largest rural market in south east Queensland and attract up to 420 stallholders. But new stallholders are always very welcome too! More info? Saturday Library Day - Maidenwell
- The volunteers from the Maidenwell QCWA will be supervising the regular weekly Saturday Library Day (featuring books loaned from Kingaroy Library) from 2:00pm to 4:00pm this afternoon. A library day is held in the Maidenwell Hall in Pool Street every Wednesday and Saturday.
Pioneer Shield Rugby League - Cherbourg
- Cherbourg Hornets will be hosting a big day of rugby league at Jack O'Chin Oval from today with players travelling from the Sunshine Coast and Woorabinda to take part. At 11:20am, the Cherbourg Hornettes will play Woorabinda Women, followed by an U17s boys game at 12:20pm between Cherbourg and the Sunshine Coast. At 1:45pm, the Murgon Mustangs and Sunshine Coast Bunyas will contest the Community Club Shield. At 3:30pm, the Pioneer Shield will see the Cherbourg Hornets take on the Woorabinda Warriors. Entry is $5 for adults, children free.
Halloween Party - Kingaroy
- The Kingaroy Hotel, corner of Youngman and Haly streets, Kingaroy, will be hosting a Halloween Party and scavenger hunt for adults from 8:00pm until 2:00am tonight. Prizes for the best male and female costumes. Enter before 10:30pm to join the scavenger hunt at 11:00pm.
Heritage House Book Fair - Yarraman
- The Yarraman & District Historical Society will be holding a Book Fair at Heritage House at 26 Millar Street, Yarraman today and tomorrow between 10:00am and 3:00pm as a fundraiser. There'll be lots of books available at bargain prices, as well as vinyl records, DVDs and bric-a-brac. Everyone is welcome!
Churchyard Op Shop Reopening - Nanango
- The Anglican Churchyard Op Shop, at the corner of Drayton and Burnett Streets in Nanango, will be reopening today at 9:00am after a restoration supported by the Heritage Bank Nanango. The Op Shop will be open every Saturday from 9:00am to noon.
Tag-Along Tour - Blackbutt
- The Blackbutt and District Tourism and Heritage Association will be running a Tag-Along Tour from 8:00am today. Guests should meet up at the Roy Emerson Museum in Bowman Road, Blackbutt, from where they'll proceed to Upper Pinelands, the Crows Nest Museum and Historical Village, Crows Nest Soft Drinks and the Pechey Distilling Co. In Stage 3, Nanango Scorpions v Kingaroy at Alan Downie Sportsfields. Junior games start at 8:00am. In Round 4, of the South Burnett Senior competition, Tingoora Huntsmen v Tingoora Mercenaries at Tingoora Sportsground; Wooroolin Warriors v Murgon Diggers at Lyle Vidler Oval, Kingaroy; Nanango Scorpions v Wondai at Alan Downie Sports Fields; Kingaroy Services v Tingoora Vikings at Wondai Sports Ground. Murgon Men's Shed
- The Murgon Men's Shed will be holding a meeting at their shed in Macalister Street, Murgon (the shed next to the former Murgon Railway Station) today.
