Music In The Park - Blackbutt
- Here's something different for a Sunday! The Bloomin Beautiful Blackbutt festival committee will be holding Music In The Park at Les Muller Park in Hart Street, Blackbutt from 12:00 noon to around 4:00pm today as a fundraiser for September's BBB festival. Today's event will feature a number of independent musicians playing folk, pop and blues (vote for what you want to them to play); a children's playground; free face-painting; food, drink and a licensed bar; and a $3 gourmet sausage sizzle supported by the Blackbutt Bakery and Blackbutt Butchery. Everyone is welcome and admission is free.

135 Army Cadet Unit Open Day - Wondai
- The 135 Army Cadet Unit will be holding their annual Open Day and 2014 Sign-On at their barracks at the 25/49RQR Depot in Bramston Street, Wondai (just next to Wondai Hospital) from 10:00am to 2:00pm today. If you're interested in the cadets this is a really great opportunity for a good look at their depot. You can also experience bush navigation, field craft, drill, first aid and much more at today's show to get some idea of the sorts of adventurous activities the Unit gets up to. The 135 Army Cadet Unit services the Murgon, Wondai, Kingaroy, Gayndah and Mundubbera areas and new cadets are very welcome (the minimum enlistment age is 12.5 years and the maximum is 19 years). - It's all go in Blackbutt today! In addition to Music In The Park (see entry further above on this page), the Blackbutt Lions Country Markets - run on the third Sunday of every month - will be held next to the Blackbutt Community Hall in Coulson Street, Blackbutt from 7:00am until around noon today. The markets offer a wide range of locally produced arts, crafts and and freshly harvested foodstuffs and everyone is welcome along! And if you time things right, you can attend the markets in the morning and then wander down to Les Muller Park to enjoy Music In The Park in the afternoon.
