6th Annual Reef & Beef Extravaganza - Ironpot
The 6th annual Reef & Beef Extravaganza will be held at Ironpot Hall in Ironpot from 5:30pm onwards this evening. This all-you-can-eat event will offer guests as many prawns, oysters, Moreton Bay bugs, scallops, whole cooked Red Emperor and pan-fried reef fish fillets, rib steaks and BBQ rib fillet steaks as they can pack in, along with salads, vegies and dessert. There'll also be a licensed bar operating too, plus live entertainment. It's been a year since Ironpot last digested a Reef & Beef Night but it'll be a fantastic event (as it always is). And if you'd rather be driven than drive the 55km from town, there'll be a bus running from Kingaroy for a small extra fee. Tickets are $65 per head for adults, $40 for high school students and $15 for primary school students and you can book them by phoning Sonya on (07) 4164-8142 (ahrs) or (0428) 648-142, or Hook on (0428) 648-244, or by emailing them. Be quick, though! Numbers for this popular community fund-raiser have risen every year (from 140 in 2009 to more than 300 last year) and places are limited. You can also read more about what last year's Reef & Beef was like - and see pictures - on our website.
4th Annual Windera Music Muster
Windera State School P&C will be holding their fourth annual Windera Music Muster at the school's leafy grounds on the Murgon-Gayndah Road from 3:00pm until around 11:00pm tonight. The event will feature well-known country artists Muddy Flats, Amber Goldsmith, Tori Somers, Billy Tea, Debra and Wayne Castle, Keith Edwards on harp and more. This open air concert is a fundraiser for the school's P&C to help them purchase resources for the kids, and there'll also be a licensed bar, children's entertainment, a kup murri, hot chips, burgers and a sausage sizzle. If you enjoy a relaxing afternoon and evening of good music, good company and yummy food under shady trees this is a great late-summer event you simply shouldn't miss. Admission is $15 for adults and $5 for high school students (primary school and below are free). Everyone's welcome, and you can obtain more details and/or book a $5 unpowered campsite if you want to stay over by phoning Belinda on (07) 4168-6064 or (0438) 151-632 or by emailing her.
