Art Exhibition Opening - Kingaroy
The Nimue Art Gallery in King Street, Kingaroy (just next to the Carrollee Hotel) will be opening their latest monthly exhibition for 2013 with a wine and cheese tasting at 6:30pm this evening. Tonight's exhibition will feature a wide selection of artworks from Hivesville artist Shannus O'Sullivan (see example at right). The exhibition will feature many new works from this very popular artist, who's received more than 120 prizes and awards over his career for paintings now held in collections around Australia and in the USA, Asia, England and Germany. Endeavour Foundation Bingo - Kingaroy
The Endeavour Foundation will be holding bingo games at Kingaroy RSL from 10:00am this morning. There'll be four jackpots on offer, as well as a raffle. Everyone is welcome.
Blue Light Disco - Nanango
The Nanango Blue Light Disco committee will be holding their regular second Friday of the month U18s Blue Light Disco at the Nanango Skating Rink in George Street, Nanango from 6:00pm to 9:00pm tonight. Karaoke Night - Wondai
The South Burnett Lively 50s & 60s Singles Social Group will be attending a Karaoke Night at the Warana Hotel at 42 Mackenzie Street, Wondai from 7:30pm until late this evening. The South Burnett's very own "Sultan Of Sax" Tom McKenzie will be playing on the rear deck of the Wondai Hotel & Cellars in Haly Street, Wondai from 6:00pm until late tonight. Friday Social Golf - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Golf Club on the Bunya Highway at Kingaroy will holding their regular Friday 9-ers 9 hole social golfing sessions for men and women from 8:00am until dusk today. Everyone is most welcome (including non-members) and green fees are $11 for members or $14 for non-members for the nine holes - but this also includes a card draw for prizes in the clubhouse in the evening (there's also a Jackpot card draw on the last Friday of each month). Friday Night Darts - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Darts Association will be holding their regular weekly Social Competition Night from 7:00pm to 10:00pm at their premises at Shed 1, 18 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. This is a 3-a-side event with a $5 playing fee, and a fully licensed bar will be operating along with raffles. New players are always very welcome, and the club caters for all skill levels from novice to expert. Country Music Practice Night - Nanango

Friday Night Social Bowls - Murgon
The Murgon Bowls Club in Macalister Street, Murgon will be holding Friday Night Social Bowls from 6:00pm onwards this evening (bar opens at 4:00m; games start at 6:30pm). The $15 green fee includes all games and a great BBQ dinner, and it's open to bowlers and non-bowlers alike - just wear soft-soled shoes or go barefoot. Friday Night Live - Murgon
The South Burnett PCYC in Macalister Street, Murgon will be holding another of their great "Friday Night Live" sessions from 6:00pm to 9:00pm this evening. Friday Night Live is open to all primary school and high school students and the get-together features music and a range of activities to suit everyone. Dinner is also provided and so is free bus travel from Goomeri and Wondai (the Goomeri bus will leave Dickenson's Park at 5:30pm and return at 9:15pm; and the Wondai bus will leave from the Timber Industry Museum at 5:30pm and return at 9:15pm). The Kingaroy Men's Shed will be open from 9:00am to 12:00 noon and 2:00pm to 4:00pm today behind the Salvation Army's headquarters at 44 Alford Street in Kingaroy. The shed is open to all men who'd enjoy the companionship of other men while undertaking woodwork, metalwork or similar projects or who'd just enjoy a chat. More details? Friday Night Community Cafe - Nanango
A community cafe will be operating at the Wesleyan Methodist Church hall at 55 Cairns Street, Nanango from 5:00pm to 8:00pm tonight. The cafe provides a free meal and company for anyone who wants to come along, and everyone is welcome.
South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 11:00am to 1:00pm today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $35 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
