Get Ready Cherbourg Day - Cherbourg
- The Cherbourg Aboriginal Shire Council will be holding a special "Get Ready Cherbourg Day" at the Les Stewart Snr. Memorial Sports Centre in Cherbourg from 1:00pm to 7:00pm this afternoon to raise awareness about the approaching summer storm season, and explain how the community can prepare and stay safe from fires, floods and storms. There'll be demonstrations from emergency services such as fire, ambulance, police and helivacs. And to help keep children amused, there'll also be free rides and give-aways, a free BBQ running, and entertainment including an evening concert by Muddy Flats. Cards & Bowls Afternoon - Kingaroy
- The Kingaroy Senior Citizens Club will be holding their regular Monday afternoon indoor bowls and cards competitions at their centre on the corner of Avoca and Kingaroy Streets, Kingaroy (opposite Super IGA) from 1:00pm to around 4:00pm today. Lift For Life Session - Wondai
- The South Burnett Regional Council's Healthy Communities program will be holding a gold coin donation "Lift For Life" strength training program at the Wondai Squash Courts at 98 Edward Street in Wondai from 9:30am to 10:30am this morning. This new program - which offers a six-month, low cost course in strength training for people of all ages and fitness levels - will help prevent and/or manage Type 2 diabetes and other chronic health conditions. Lift For Life sessions are held twice-weekly on Mondays and Wednesdays and if you plan to attend you should bring comfortable shoes, a towel, a water bottle and (if applicable) medication. Wondai SES Meeting
- The Wondai SES will be holding their regular Monday night training session at their shed in McCord Street, Wondai from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Sing Australia Meeting - Kingaroy
- The Kingaroy branch of the Sing Australia singing group will be holding their regular Monday night meeting at the Uniting Church Hall in Alford Street, Kingaroy from 7:00pm to around 9:00pm this evening. St John's Ambulance Brigade Meeting - Kingaroy
- The Kingaroy Division of St John's Ambulance will be holding its regular Monday night training meeting at SES Shed in Glendon Street, Kingaroy from 6:30pm to 8:30pm tonight. The group provides invaluable training in eveything from first aid right up to Advanced Responder for both adults and cadets (aged 8 to 17) and new members are always welcome! More details? Community Kitchen Meeting - Murgon
- The Murgon Community Kitchen will be meeting at Graham House at 27 Taylor Street East in Murgon from 10:00am to 12:00 noon this morning. The Community Kitchen meets every Monday during school terms. South Burnett Touch Football Finals - Kingaroy
- The South Burnett's Touch Football finals will be played at Lyle Vidler Oval in Youngman Street, Kingaroy from 5:00pm onwards this evening. At 5:00pm, the Mods/Juniors will take to three fields for the play-offs, and they'll be followed at 6:00pm with Team-Team matches (HWB v Untouchables, Touch N Go v Meandu Miners and St Marys vs IGA Maroon). At 6:45pm, IGA Red will play Posso Panthers; Expressos will play Taabinga; and Write-Offs will play Coolabunia Gunners. Then at 7:30pm, Gumps will play IGA Blue and Roosters will play Kingas Maccas. Finally, at 8:15pm, Flatliners will play IGA Navy and Health Hazards will touch it out with Childs Play. Spectators and supporters are very welcome!
