Motors In Motion Festival
- The third annual Motors In Motion Festival will be held at the Kingaroy Airport on the Goodger Road south of Kingaroy from 9:00am this morning through until around 4:00pm this afternoon. The Festival celebrates motors of all types - anything from vintage cars, motorcycles and farm machinery through to muscle hotrods, ratrods and aeroplanes - and there'll be lots on display today for revheads and motoring enthusiasts to look at and (occasionally) even drool over. This year a Kiowa helicopter from the Oakey Army Aviation base will be paying a visit. There'll also be V8 Trsactor Sled Pull, a Car Motorkhana Display, displays of Drift cars, old-style peanut and corn threshing and much more. There'll also be food and drink stalls, amusement rides and face painting for children; joy flights; a motorbike gymkhana; a Ping Pong Ball Drop; and many other entertainments for the whole family. Nanango Country Markets
- The Nanango Show Society will be holding their regular monthly Country Markets at the Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street from 6:00am to around 12:00 noon today. As usual, the markets will feature a wide variety of craft stalls, new and used goods, plants, poultry and pets. The Nanango Markets are the largest rural market in south east Queensland and routinely attract 320 to 420 stallholders. But new stallholders are always very welcome too! More info? 2013 Murgon Music Muster
- The third (and main) day of the four-day Murgon Music Muster will get underway at the PCYC complex at the Murgon Showgrounds in Macalister Street, Murgon at 8:00am this morning with a Poet's Breakfast that will last until 9:30am. This will be followed from 10:00am until late by an Invited Artists concert with this year's featured act - the Lindsay Butler Shot Band - taking the stage at 8:00pm. The Muster is being organised by the Murgon Rotary Club and it features a wide range of country and bush balladeering talents. Lunch and dinner will be available in the grounds too. Admission today is $25 and overnight camping is available in the grounds for between $5 and $7.50. Maidenwell Hall Bush Dance
- A dinki-di Bush Dance will be held at Maidenwell Hall in Maidenwell from 6:30pm until around 10:30pm tonight. The dance is a popular annual fundraiser for the Tanduringie State School P&C and music will be supplied by popular bush band Ridgee Didge. There'll also be a licensed bar in operation and you should bring along a plate for a shared supper. Tickets are just $10 for adults, $5 for children or $25 for a family and everyone is welcome!
Halloween Party - Proston
- The Proston SES Social Club will be holding a Halloween Party at the Proston Community Hall in Rodney Street from 6:00pm until late tonight. There'll be prizes for the best dressed adult and best dressed junior - so wear your scariest costume! - along with party finger food, fun games and a DJ. Prepaid tickets are $8 for aduylts, $4 for students or $18 for a family and can be obtzained by phoning (0404) 889-621; otherwise they'll be $10, $5 and $20 at the door tonight.
Just Friends - Kingaroy

St Patrick's Quiz Night - Nanango
- St Patrick's Primary School will be holding their popular annual Quiz Night at St Patrick's School Hall at 16 Alfred Street in Nanango from 6:30pm until late tonight. This year's theme is "All Things Music" and there'll be great prizes on offer for the best-dressed teams of six, as well as cash prizes for winning teams and lots of other fun things too. Admission is still a slim $10 per head and attendees should be aged 15 or higher. You'll need to BYO beverages and/or food - but a great night out is guaranteed! More details and/or bookings? Dance - Tablelands Hall
- A dance (and dance lessons, if you need them) will be held at Tablelands Hall from 6:30pm until late tonight (supper is served at 6:30pm; dancing will follow afterwards). The dance will feature old time and new vogue numbers and admission includes the supper. Entry is $10 for adults, $5 for high school students and $2.50 for anyone else. Everyone is welcome! Dance - Inverlaw Hall
- A dance will be held at Inverlaw Hall on the Burrandowan Road (roughly 20km from Kingaroy) from 8:00pm until late this evening. Music will be supplied by The Commodores and there'll be the usual great supper and novelties, along with a big Lucky Door draw.
