South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Kingaroy State High School Heroes and Villains Concert
Kingaroy State High School's instrumental music bands (ie the Big Band, Stage Band, Wind Ensemble and Concert Band) will be performing a special "Heroes and Villains Concert" at the Kingaroy Town Hall in Glendon Street, Kingaroy at 6:00pm this evening. The bands will be performing music from Mission Impossible, Harry Potter, James Bond, Transformers, The Incredibles, Spiderman and many more movie favourites, and guests who come dressed as their favourite movie hero or villain will be in the running to win a special prize. The concert will begin with warm-up music and a sausage sizzle in the Town Hall Forecourt at 6:00pm before moving indoors for the main show, and everyone is welcome. Tickets are $5 per single or $20 for a family. They can be pre-purchased from the High School by phoning them on (07) 4160 0666 or by emailing them. All pre-purchased tickets need to be paid for before the concert - only a limited number will be available at the door tonight.
Blue Light Skating - Nanango
The Nanango Blue Light Disco committee will be holding their regular first Friday of the month U13s Skating Night at the Nanango Skating Rink in George Street, Nanango from 6:00pm to 9:00pm tonight. South Burnett Pantry Charity Dinner - Booie
The South Burnett Pantry will be holding its first-ever Charity Dinner at the Belltower Restaurant at the corner of Haydens and Schellbachs Roads in Booie at 6:30pm this evening. There'll be an all-you-can-eat buffet along with a silent auction, and tickets are just $24.50 per adult and $16.20 per child. However - for catering purposes - an RSVP to (07) 4162-7632 by October 23rd would be greatly appreciated.
Endeavour Foundation Bingo - Kingaroy
The Endeavour Foundation will be holding bingo games at Kingaroy RSL from 10:00am this morning. There'll be four jackpots on offer, as well as a raffle. Everyone is welcome.
2013 Murgon Music Muster
The second day of the four-day Murgon Music Muster will get underway at the PCYC complex at the Murgon Showgrounds in Macalister Street, Murgon at 8:00am this morning with a Poet's Breakfast that will last until 9:30am. This will be followed from 10:00am until late by an Invited and Walk-Up Acts concert. The Muster is being organised by the Murgon Rotary Club and today - and over the next two days - it will feature a wide range of country and bush balladeering talents. Lunch and dinner will be available in the grounds too. Admission today is just $15 and overnight camping is available in the grounds for between $5 and $7.50. Duce - Kingaroy

Art Exhibition Opening - Wondai
The Wondai Regional Art Gallery on the roundabout at Wondai will be opening their latest monthly exhibition with a wine and cheese tasting at 6:00pm this evening. Tonight's show will feature a completely new exhibition by acclaimed Cherbourg artists Venus Rabbit and Steven Bond in the main gallery; Kingaroy photo-realist Jo O'Brien in the front gallery; and Nanango artist Karren Bolton in the rear gallery. As usual, the opening will also feature great hot and cold finger foods and punch, along with wine tastings from a South Burnett winery and great socialising. Friday Night Darts - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Darts Association will be holding their regular weekly Social Competition Night from 7:00pm to 10:00pm at their premises at Shed 1, 18 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. This is a 3-a-side event with a $5 playing fee, and a fully licensed bar will be operating along with raffles. New players are always very welcome, and the club caters for all skill levels from novice to expert. Friday Social Golf - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Golf Club on the Bunya Highway at Kingaroy will holding their regular Friday 9-ers 9 hole social golfing sessions for men and women from 8:00am until dusk today. Everyone is most welcome (including non-members) and green fees are $11 for members or $14 for non-members for the nine holes - but this also includes a card draw for prizes in the clubhouse in the evening (there's also a Jackpot card draw on the last Friday of each month). Friday Night Social Bowls - Murgon
The Murgon Bowls Club in Macalister Street, Murgon will be holding Friday Night Social Bowls from 6:00pm onwards this evening (bar opens at 4:00m; games start at 6:30pm). The $15 green fee includes all games and a great BBQ dinner, and it's open to bowlers and non-bowlers alike - just wear soft-soled shoes or go barefoot. Country Music Practice Night - Nanango

South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 11:00am to 1:00pm today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $35 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
