South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Mayor's Charity Golf Day - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Golf Club of the Bunya Highway south-west of town will be hosting the second Mayor's Charity Golf Day for 2015 today. The event will take the form of a three person ambrose with a shotgun start at 10:00am. Nominations - which include a BBQ lunch, raffles, auctions and a free Welcome Pack - are $100 per team, and there'll be a surprise special guest golfer on the greens too. Proceeds of today's event will go to the Mayor's Community Benefit Fund, which distributes grants to not-for-profit South Burnett community groups. Everyone is welcome!
Yarraman Ladies Bowls Club Meeting

Blackbutt Christmas Festival Arts & Crafts Fair
The sixth day of the 15th annual Blackbutt Christmas Festival will kick into gear at 8:30am this morning at the Blackbutt Memorial Hall in Coulson Street, Blackbutt when the hall's doors open for the annual Arts & Crafts Christmas Fair. The Hall will be packed with arts and crafts - just perfect for Christmas gifts! - and the Anglican Church ladies will be providing morning teas, afternoon teas, lunch and evening nibbles (the Hall will be open until 9:00pm tonight). Admission is free, and if you can't make it today the Fair will continue from 8:30am to 12:00 noon tomorrow.
Heritage House Christmas Dinner - Yarraman
Heritage House at Millar Street in Yarraman will be holding its annual Christmas Dinner for friends, members and the general public at 6:00pm this evening. Bookings for the dinner are essential, though, and can be made by phoning (07) 4163-8111 or (07) 4163-8954.

Art Exhibition Opening - Wondai
The Wondai Regional Art Gallery on the roundabout at Wondai will be opening their final monthly exhibition for 2015 with a wine and cheese tasting at 6:00pm tonight. This month - and right through to the end of January - the gallery will be hosting "Sweethearts, Wives and Damned Whores", an interactive exhibition of vintage female fashions collected by Linda Silburn which illustrate the many changes women's roles have undergone in the last 150 years. As usual, tonight's opening will also feature great hot and cold finger foods and punch, along with wine tastings from Clovely Estate winery, live entertainment and lots of fun socialising. Friday Night Poker - Kingaroy
Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street, Kingaroy will be hosting Friday night poker games this evening. Registration starts at 6:30pm and the first cards are dealt at 7:00pm. Friday Night Live Family Pool & Movie Night At Murgon Pool
The South Burnett PCYC will be holding its final Friday Night Live for the year tonight, and it will be doing it with a Family Pool and Movie Fun Night at Murgon's revamped Jubilee Swimming Pool in Gore Street to raise help raise funds for local women with breast cancer. Apart from all the usual Friday Night Live fun and a movie screening there'll be a multi-draw raffle. The evening will run from 6:00pm to 9:00pm and admission is $8 per person or $25 for a family group of 4 (but there must be at least one adult with every group). Everyone is welcome!
Country Music Night - Nanango
An informal Country Music Night will be held at the Uniting Church Hall in Gipps Street, Nanango at 7:30pm tonight. The get-together is open to both spectators and performers, and the $2 entry fee includes supper. Everyone is welcome!
Jackpot Karaoke - Proston
A Jackpot Karaoke Night with popular South Burnett entertainers Love2Sing will be held at the Golden Spurs Hotel in Blake Street, Proston from 7:00pm until late tonight. Coverty Creek Social Club Meeting
The Coverty Creek Community Development and Social Club will be holding its regular Friday night social gathering at the Red Shed at 198 Coverty Road, Coverty from 5:00pm until around 10:00pm tonight. Friday Night At The Shed - Nanango
The Shed in Little Drayton Street, Nanango (just next to the Scott Car Park) will be open from 7:30pm until late tonight for local musicians and anyone else who enjoys music to come along, bring their instruments and jam in a relaxed and informal setting (or just sit on the Shed's lounges, listen in and enjoy the wide variety of talent on offer). South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:30pm today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
