Heritage Nanango New Years Eve Mardi Gras
- The first-ever Heritage Nanango New Year's Eve Mardi Gras will be held at the Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street this evening. This free entry, family-friendly event will feature showground rides and amusements for children, live entertainment, food and drinks at everyday prices and two separate giant fireworks displays - one at around 8:00pm so mums and dads can put their children to bed early, and a second one at midnight so adults can welcome in the New Year. PS: Nanango residents who've been taking part in the Mardi Gras Money promotion running in local shops since October can use their Mardi Gras dollars to pay for food, drinks and rides.
New Year's Eve Family Rodeo - Goomeri
- The Goomeri and District Show Society will be holding their popular annual New Year's Eve Family Rodeo at the Goomeri Showgrounds tonight to help ring in the New Year. Gates will open and junior rodeo action will commence at 8:00am; pre-performance events will begin at 1:00pm; and the main rodeo events will kick off around 5:00pm and continue right on into the evening. The event is a full bull & bronc NRA-affiliated Rodeo so you can be certain of seeing some really top class rodeo action. Events on offer include an Open Bull Ride, Saddle and Bareback Broncs, Time Event Stock and the must-have Poddy Ride for all the junior cowboys and cowgirls. And after the rodeo concludes there'll be toe-tapping live entertainment until late. A fully licensed bar and BBQ will be operating all day and night, and there's also free unpowered camping sites available on the grounds if you want to stay over after the party winds down around 1:00am. 9th Annual Pickled Galah Rally - Maidenwell
- The second day of the 9th annual three-day Pickled Galah New Years Eve Rally will be held at the Maidenwell Hotel in Maidenwell today. Over the next few days the Rally will feature a Bike Show; a Wet T-Shirt Competition; Pub Olympics; raffles; and live music tonight. Camping will be available in the hotel's grounds (with $2 hot showers available too) and admission is just $25 for the full three days. The event is also fully catered, with lunch available from 12:00 noon to 2:00pm today and dinner from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The Rally is open to Sunstate Riders only, though, so if you're not one of them you'll need to do your New Years Eve revels elsewhere. You can obtain more details on the Pickled Galah website
Pro-Rata 30th Anniversary Reunion - Kingaroy
- Pro Rata, the premier South Burnett covers band of the mid-to-late 1980s, will be reuniting for a one-off 30th Anniversary Concert to ring in the New Year at Kingaroy's Carrollee Hotel this evening. New Year's Eve Dance - Booie Hall
- A special New Year's Eve Dance will be held at Booie Hall at 1867 Booie Road from 8:00pm until past midnight tonight. New Years Eve Fireworks At Lake Boondooma
- Boondooma Dam west of Proston will be ringing in the New Year with fireworks and live music tonight. There'll be a licensed bar open until late, food stalls, a band and a 9:00pm fireworks show (for families that need to get the children to bed) plus a second fireworks show for adults at midnight. Alcoholics Anonymous - Kingaroy
- Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to help solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership. A.A. isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution.
