South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Yarraman Community Christmas Carols
Yarraman's annual Community Christmas Carols service will be held at Errol Munt Park on the New England Highway just west of the CBD this evening. The BBQs will fire up at 6:30pm and carol singing led by the Sempf family will start at 7:00pm. Everyone is welcome and admission is free, but guests should BYO chair or blanket. More details? Hivesville Christmas Carnival
Hivesville will be holding its annual Christmas Carnival in Anzac Park from 6:00pm to around 8:00pm tonight. The carnival is organised by the Hivesville Progress Association and it will feature a sausage sizzle and light refreshments, live entertainment from the Seventh Day Adventist Church Choir (who'll be performing Christmas carols), a visit from Santa at 7:00pm and raffle drawings at 8:00pm. Afterwards, the nearby Hivesville Hotel will be offering live music from 8:00pm to 11:00pm. Everyone is welcome!
Friday Morning Bingo - Kingaroy
The Endeavour Foundation will be running bingo games at Kingaroy RSL from 10:00am this morning (eyes down at 10:30am). There'll be four jackpots on offer, along with book games and raffles, and proceeds will go to help people with an intellectual disability. Everyone is welcome. More details? Friday Night Poker - Kingaroy
Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street, Kingaroy will be hosting Friday night poker games this evening. Registration starts at 6:30pm and the first cards are dealt at 7:00pm. There are cash prizes to be won and no fees to play. More details from the RSL on (07) 4162-1755. NB: Friday night poker games are played on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month.
Friday Social Golf - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Golf Club on the Bunya Highway at Kingaroy will holding their regular Friday 9-ers 9 hole social golfing sessions for men and women from 8:00am until dusk today. Everyone is most welcome (including non-members) and green fees are $11 for members or $14 for non-members for the nine holes - but this also includes a card draw for prizes in the clubhouse in the evening (there's also a Jackpot card draw on the last Friday of each month). Country Music Night - Nanango
An informal Country Music Night will be held at the Uniting Church Hall in Gipps Street, Nanango at 7:30pm tonight. The get-together is open to both spectators and performers, and the $2 entry fee includes supper. Everyone is welcome!
Coverty Creek Social Club Meeting
The Coverty Creek Community Development and Social Club will be holding its regular Friday night social gathering at the Red Shed at 198 Coverty Road, Coverty from 5:00pm until around 10:00pm tonight. The South Burnett's very own "Sultan Of Sax" Tom McKenzie will be playing at the Wondai Hotel & Cellars in Haly Street, Wondai from 6:00pm until late tonight. Festival Of Small Halls - Goomeri
Gympie Regional Council and the Woodfordia will be jointly sponsoring a Festival Of Small Halls event at Goomeri's Hall Of Memory from 6:30pm until late tonight. The Festival features acoustic roots folk and contemporary music and has drawn positive reviews wherever it's been staged. Admission is free.
Blue Light Skating - Nanango
The Nanango Blue Light Disco committee will be holding a Family Skating Night at the Nanango Skating Rink in George Street, Nanango from 6:00pm to 9:00pm tonight. A canteen will be operating and admission is $5, which includes skate hire. More details? Phone Nanango Police on (07) 4163-1211.
South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:30pm today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
