2015 Murgon Music Muster
The second day of the four-day Murgon Music Muster will get underway at the PCYC complex next to the Murgon Showgrounds in Macalister Street, Murgon at 8:00am this morning with a Poet's Breakfast that will last until 9:30am. This will be followed from 10:00am until late by an Invited and Walk-Up Acts concert. The Muster is being organised by the Murgon Rotary Club and over the next two days will feature a wide range of country and bush balladeering talents. Lunch and dinner will be available in the grounds too, along with an indoor bar. Admission today is $20 and overnight camping sites are available in the showgrounds for between $6 (unpowered) and $9 (powered) per night if you want to stay over. Friday Night At The Shed - Nanango
The Shed in Little Drayton Street, Nanango (just next to the Scott Car Park) will be open from 7:30pm until late tonight for local musicians and anyone else who enjoys music to come along, bring their instruments and jam in a relaxed and informal setting (or just sit on the Shed's lounges, listen in and enjoy the wide variety of talent on offer). Pink Ribbon Breakfast - Murgon
Alicia's Spa & Hair Worx and Carney's Feed Store will be hosting a Pink Ribbon Breakfast in Murgon at 7:00am this morning as a fundraiser for breast cancer research. The breakfast will be held outside their shops at at 125-129 Lamb Street, and everyone is welcome!
South Burnett Wine Appreciation Society - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Wine Appreciation Society will be holding their regular monthly meeting at the 1913 Council Chambers in Edward Street behind the Kingaroy Visitor Information Centre from 6:30pm onwards this evening. Tonight's meeting will be a "bring your favourite bottle" night, and everyone is welcome. The Wine Appreciation Society is open to anyone who'd like to learn more about wines and the $10 meeting fee covers all wine tastings and nibbles. More details? Country Music Night - Nanango
An informal Country Music Night will be held at the Uniting Church Hall in Gipps Street, Nanango at 7:30pm tonight. The get-together is open to both spectators and performers, and the $2 entry fee includes supper. Everyone is welcome!
Friday Night Sax - Wondai
The South Burnett's very own "Sultan Of Sax" Tom McKenzie will be playing at the Wondai Hotel & Cellars in Haly Street, Wondai from 6:00pm until late tonight. Coverty Creek Social Club Meeting
The Coverty Creek Community Development and Social Club will be holding its regular Friday night social gathering at the Red Shed at 198 Coverty Road, Coverty from 5:00pm until around 10:00pm tonight. The Endeavour Foundation will be running bingo games at Kingaroy RSL from 10:00am this morning (eyes down at 10:30am). Halloween Blue Light Disco - Nanango
The Nanango Blue Light Disco committee will be holding a special Halloween Blue Light Disco at the Nanango Skating Rink in George Street, Nanango from 6:00pm to 8:00pm tonight. There'll be a fully equipped and slightly spooky DJ providing the beats, plus weird games and freakish prizes, and a canteen will be operating too. Drug And Substance Abuse Public Forum - Nanango
The Nanango, Yarraman and Blackbutt Uniting Churches will be sponsoring a free public forum on drug and substance abuse at Taras Hall next to Nanango RSL in Henry Street, Nanango from 7:00pm to 9:00pm this evening. The forum will be chaired by Deputy Mayor Cr Keith Campbell and Ruth Dukes will be a special guest speaker. Admission is free, there'll be a light supper and informal chats afterwards. Friday Social Golf - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Golf Club on the Bunya Highway at Kingaroy will holding their regular Friday 9-ers 9 hole social golfing sessions for men and women from 8:00am until dusk today. Everyone is most welcome (including non-members) and green fees are $11 for members or $14 for non-members for the nine holes - but this also includes a card draw for prizes in the clubhouse in the evening (there's also a Jackpot card draw on the last Friday of each month). South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:30pm today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
