South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
CPR Awareness Course - Murgon
The Murgon Local Ambulance Committee will be running a hands-on course in CPR Awareness at the Baptist Hall in Stephens Street, Murgon at 10:30am to 12:00 noon this morning. The course will participants basic CPR (ie cardiopulmonary resuscitation) skills which could help them save a life, and the cost is just a gold coin donation. More details? Tuesday Social Dancing - Kingaroy
A social dance featuring Old Time and New Vogue styles will be held at the CWA Hall in Kingaroy Street, Kingaroy between 6:00pm and 9:00pm this evening. Admission is $5, which includes tea and a light supper. More details? Phone Derrick on (07) 4163-6294
Science Circus - Kingaroy
The Shell Questacon Science Circus will be appearing at Kingaroy Town Hall in Glendon Street, Kingaroy from 5:00pm to 8:00pm this evening. The Hall will be overflowing with 40 hands-on science exhibits, and there'll also be live science shows by Questacon presenters who will hold fire in their hands, lie on a bed of nails and levitate beach balls. Country Crafters Meeting - Blackbutt
The Blackbutt Country Crafters will be holding their regular Tuesday morning meeting at the Uniting Church Hall in Coulson Street, Blackbutt from 9:30am to 2:00pm today. Danny's Diner - Kingaroy
Danny's Diner - a free community dinner - will be held at the Uniting Church Hall at the corner of Alford and Youngman streets in Kingaroy from 5:30pm to 7:00pm tonight. The dinner is an initiative of the Kingaroy District Ministry Association for the benefit of anyone who's hungry or otherwise doing it tough. South Burnett Chorale - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Chorale will be holding their regular Tuesday practice night at the Church of Christ Hall at the corner of Haly and Burnett Streets in Kingaroy from 7:30pm to 9:30pm this evening. Nanango Scout Club Meeting
The Nanango Scout Club - which meets every Tuesday night during school terms - will be holding its regular weekly meeting at the Scout Den at 40 Henry Street, Nanango (just next to the police station) from 5:30pm to around 7:00pm tonight. The group currently has three sections in operation: Joeys (for children aged 6 to 8 years); Cubs (8-11 years); and Scouts (11-15 years). Proston Over 50s Club Meeting
The Proston Over 50s Club will be holding their regular third Tuesday of the month meeting and social at the Proston Town Hall in Rodney Street from 10:00am onwards today. The $2 admission fee includes morning tea and there'll be a communal lunch at around noon (bring along a plate to share). Members take part in various games, lucky door prizes and progressive raffles, and membership is just $5 per year, with bus trips are organised throughout the year. New members are always welcome! The South Burnett PCYC in Macalister Street, Murgon will be starting its 12-week "Body Blitz" weekly cookery course at 6:30pm this evening. This course will teach you how to cook and eat in a healthier way in easy weekly lessons - and if you've been eating too many of the wrong foods, probably show you how to lose some extra kilograms into the bargain. From Garbage To Garden - Nanango
The South Burnett Regional Council will be holding a free "From Garbage To Garden" workshop at the Nanango RSL Club in Henry Street, Nanango from 9:30am to 11:30am this morning. Up to half of all domestic waste can be recycled into compost, improving your garden and veggie patch while reducing landfill, and tonight's workshop will explain how you can easily set up a home composting system and worm farm.
