QCWA Twilight Branch Meeting - Kingaroy
- The Kingaroy QCWA Twilight Branch will be holding their third Wednesday of the month meeting at the QCWA Rooms next to Kingaroy RSL in Kingaroy Street, Kingaroy from 6:00pm to around 7:30pm tonight. The Twilight Branch is a new branch of the QCWA which is designed for working women and busy mums. It meets in the evenings and is separate from the traditional Kingaroy branch (which meets during the day). The Twilight Branch is open to all women who'd like to take part in QCWA activities and/or find out more about this highly respected community organisation. New members are always very welcome! Blackbutt Camera Club Meeting
- The Blackbutt Camera Club will be holding a meeting at the Uniting Church Hall in Coulson Street, Blackbutt from 4:00pm to 8:00pm this evening. The club meets on the first and third Wednesdays of every month except December and January. The first Wednesday is devoted to practical photography (bring your own camera and equipment) and the third Wednesday to a review of those images and talks and tips on software (bring your laptop), followed by a committee meeting at 7:00pm. Wednesday Night Poker - Kingaroy
- Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street, Kingaroy will be hosting Wednesday night poker games this evening. Registration starts at 6:30pm and the first cards are dealt at 7:00pm. There are cash prizes to be won and no fees to play. More details from the RSL on (07) 4162-1755.
Women's Wellness Day - Maidenwell
- A Women's Wellness Day jointly sponsored by the Department of Social Services, Centacare South Burnett and BIEDO's "Beating The Blues" project will be held at Maidenwell Hall in Pool Street, Maidenwell from 9:30am to around 1:30pm today. At this completely free event you can catch up with friends; hear from inspirational women who live in the local community; learn stress management and health tips; and get your photo taken with friends at the photobooth. Kingaroy Girl Guides Meeting
- The Kingaroy Girl Guides Troop will be meeting at the Guides Hut in Mant Street, Kingaroy this afternoon. U9s will meet from 4:00pm to 5:30pm, and seniors (ages 10-18) from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Graham House Community Garden - Murgon
- The Graham House Community Garden group will be meeting at the Graham House Community Centre at 21 Taylor Street East in Murgon from 10:00am to 12:00 noon this morning. The group tends a community garden and meets on the first and third Wednesdays of each month during school terms. Nanango Country Quilters & Crafts Group
- The Nanango Country Quilters And Crafts group meet every Wednesday at the Nanango Cultural Centre in George Street, Nanango between 9:00am to 2:00pm. Members can get to pursue a wide variety of crafts at these informal gatherings and the $4 meeting fee includes morning tea (but BYO cup and lunch). There's also usually a raffle as well. Summer Soccer 7s - Kingaroy
- The first round of Summer Soccer 7s will be played at the Kingaroy Soccer Fields at the end of Oliver Bond Street in Kingaroy from 5:30pm until around 9:00pm tonight. Eighteen teams - 12 social and 6 competitive - will be playing matches on two fields. Spectators are very welcome. The full Summer Soccer 7s match schedule can be found on our website.
Man Cave - Kingaroy
- The Sister Dolores Carroll Training Centre at St Mary's Catholic College at 10 Kent Street in Kingaroy will be transforming into a "Man's Cave" between 6:30pm and 10:00pm tonight. Qualified instructors will be demonstrating the use of all the equipment in the centre - great stuff like lathes, drills etc - and if you're a man interested in restoring or manufacturing wood or metal products and socialising with other men who have similar interests, then this could be the place for you! Nanango Playgroup Meeting
- The Nanango Playgroup will be holding its regular Wednesday meeting at the Nanango Darts Club at the corner of Elk and George Streets between 9:30am and 11:30am this morning. The playgroup is a group of mums, dads, grandparents and caregivers who meet together each week with their children (aged 5 years and under) for interaction and fun. It's a great way for children to learn about the world, make friends and develop social skills. The playgroup also gives the adults a chance to meet and share ideas and experiences. Indoor Bowls & Cards Day - Kingaroy
- The Kingaroy Senior Citizens Club will be hosting indoor bowls and cards (500) competitions at its centre on the corner of Avoca and Kingaroy Streets, Kingaroy between 9:00am and 4:00pm today. Wednesday Night Judo - Murgon
- The Murgon Judo Club will be holding its regular Wednesday training night at the Salvation Army Hall in Macalister Street, Murgon this evening. Benarkin's Big Book Bonanza
- Benarkin State School in Scott Street, Benarkin will be holding the last day of its three day Big Book Bonanza in the school library from 3:15pm to 4:30pm as a fundraiser for the P&C. There'll be lots of second-hand books on sale for as little as 50c, and the public are very welcome to come and browse for bargains.
Connections Craft Group - Kingaroy

2015 South Burnett Business Excellence Awards - Kingaroy
- SOLD OUT: The winners of the 2015 South Burnett Business Excellence Awards will be announced at a black tie dinner held at Kingaroy Town Hall this evening. Tickets to the dinner - at $80 per head - were sold out several weeks ago, and proceedings will commence at 6:00pm. This year's Business Excellence Awards have been sponsored by Heritage Bank Nanango and TAFE Queensland South West, and sectional awards have been sponsored by Bill Hull Car Centre, the Burnett Business Centre, Supa IGA Kingaroy, the Tarong Power Stations, Proteco Oils and Meandu Mine.
